I knew something was missing. Thanks for the excellent remaster!
edit: Speaking of which:
edit 2: You do realize that due to your additions this is now the most suggestive image on the whole wide web: An unidentifiied person in a nightgown is humping a swan so vehemently that said swan, out of sheer excitement, ejaculates a laser beam, from its eyes no less, onto a brick-monster's forehead. I've had my fair share of fever dreams. But this? This is special.
Are we banned yet?

Let's face it, Metroid Prime 4 is going to end up like Half Life 3, namely on the graveyard of dreams. The Prime 1 remaster, however, managed to escape such fate. Even though it looks tastefully done, that logo was in desperate need of a re-remaster: Metroid Prime 1 - Substandard Definition.

And here I was thinking you wouldn't pick up on these subtleties. The logos bring goosebumps. We managed to escape the bans through sheer luck... And a lack of moderation presence...so go us I guess.

edit: I got it, you're a feathy, aren't you?
But seriously, thanks for the compliment! This is truly Photoshop in ultra-hard-Turbo-Tunnel-mode: It takes forever and the results still looks like something a toddler drew in passing.

Only on weekends m'dear. Honestly, I'm not a natural artist at all so I probably couldn't do half as good. I'd say you are overestimating the abilities of toddlers though.

Let's settle for pretty gifted toddlers, shall we? And don't tell me you're not a natural artist: Your hilarious box art refinements, your custom game finish review-headers and the pixel art you've shown me leave no doubt that you're very creative and talented. I'd say the main thing that seperates the likes us from the real pros is the amount of blood, sweat and tears (and who knows what other bodily fluids) they put into honing their skills.
edit: Remastering the remaster, fixing a few pixels that bothered me and adding a proper background, I feel like I can put project Metroid Paint to rest now. I'm satisfied for once... or am I? :

windfisch - You're too kind, sir. Moving the Metroid series into space now? Such unexplored grounds!

- Publisher - Konami
- Developer - KCEO
- Genre - Dating Sim
- Initial Release - February 9 1996
Tokimeki Memorial is a dating sim game in which the player controls a male freshman from Kirameki High School. The game is particularly notable for its "bomb" feature, where neglected, infrequently-dated girls would eventually become angry and gossip to their friends, severely reducing love meters across the board.

Since it's Valentine's Day this week I thought Konami's Dating Sim would be appropriate. It's a kind of strategy based game/time management/raising game where you're asked what skills you want to invest your time into over a number of school activities. Some stats will be raised and others lowered. By focusing skills in particular areas girls become dateable, with the end goal being for one to fall in love with you by the end of the games timeframe. It's pretty tough to know how to focus your skills and unlock paths at first, and I'd say the first playthrough is mostly for learning the game, though multiple playthroughs are encouraged since there's different girls to date. It's also pretty difficult to manage the girls themselves as the game progresses. It's possible to date girls during free time, but those you don't date will gossip about you, lowering your overall reputation. It becomes a balancing act, kind of playing round robin, but you can manage how the girls feel about you through answers to a few questions during these dates. I think the biggest issues I have are that there aren't a great deal of scenes on offer, especially at first, so it feels less rewarding to first time players (I went in blind). Some sort of guidance is helpful. Regardless, I do like the game. Some scenes can be a little creepy (I remember being asked whether I wanted to peek in the girls shower, and a male student befriended at the start immediately asks for girls measurements), but for the most part they're fairly innocent and dialogue is nice enough for a Super Famicom game.
Ranking - B

I never played a dating sim, other than a couple of Leisure Suit Larry games, if those even count. Why would I want to simulate such a stressfull process anyway? This seems like an opportune moment for me to take a long overdue break from my online activities and all that mariopaintin'. I want to get some serious stuff in order, so wish me luck. Take care & see you guys on the other side!
