Either I suck at using the search engine here, or there is no Thread for "Dread" yet? A new fps for the Amiga has been in development by the polish coder KK/Altair for about two years now. The idea is to finally develop a Doom clone that can run on a Standard Amiga 500 with 1MB Ram (and a 7Mhz 68000 processor) from the late 80s. If you have played any of the first person shooter attempts on that platform you will know how they have all fallen short of the genre standard DOOM - reduced textures, slow framerates, tiny window, and all in all more "Wolfenstein 3D" instead of "Doom". -_- So it's a mighty undertaking to now achieve something that a generation of coders has failed to do in the 90s. But here it is, it's called " Dread" and it is shaping up to be nothing short of a miracle. This is last years first demo version running on actual hardware, PLEASE WATCH: youtu.be/ZxhO1ZCOZ-M?t=197I have sold my Amiga system... twenty years ago. But when Dread is released, I will still buy the full box - because I was one of those Amiga users in the 90s that longed for something that could take on Doom. So it's a late retribution for the shame I had to endure as a teenager.
