Yeah SNESAdvance can play about 50 games or so, with no music, cropped screen, and other imperfections. Not worth it. The main thing is that the GBA can't handle the SNES's sound chip. I don't know much about emus on the DS, but I'm pretty sure what you are looking for is a PSP. I'm getting a DS with a flash cart (www.ds-x.com) to play its games, and a PSP to emulate SNES, Genesis, PCE and others. That's the way to go.

If you're getting a PSP just for the homebrew and emulators, just get a GP2X, it's MADE for homebrew...literally, and can even play about half of the NeoGeo library.

The DS has a really strong homebrew following, there are a few good emu's out there. I'm running an r4ds, with DSMasterplus (Master System), SNEmulDS (Snes, obviously,) and PicoDriveDS (Megadrive/Genesis).
Master System runs very well, good sound etc, Picodrive is slow with no sound as yet, and the SNEmulDS is a bit rubbish, but some games work without problems (I'm currently playing Cybernator/Assault Suit Valken fine).
The r4ds is a very worthwhile purchase, I'm more than happy with mine. DoomDS is also freaking sweet!

Don't GPX2s tend to....die? The newer ones shouldn't, and like I said, those things are actually made for homebrew.

^^^ This is true. But just think what you can do with a stylus & touchscreen interface... *innuendo intended*

The DS is less painful for homebrew than the PSP and I can't really justify getting a GPX2 that stick doesn't look like it lends it self well to fighters

I was thinking about getting a flashcard for a while. I'm sick of not being able to play old Gameboy (Color) games on my DS, and I want to remedy that.

Certainly, it's worth it for that. I mean, a GBA will cost you in the region of £50, but a R4DS should come in at around £30. And with all the other features, makes a heck of a lot more sense.

The only way you can brick your PSP is if you are a moron who can't follow directions. >_>
