When I watched it again with my friends, a couple said "this movies OST MUST be bloated with techno", after watching the movie, I told them that every time they thought it was another techno song, the official theme song was actually playing. Anyway, the movie is alright, especially for a video game movie.
Final Fantasy: Spirits Within is an okay movie if you DON'T look at it as a Final Fantasy, but a movie of its own! The only things that made it Final Fantasy-ey was the gigantic laser in orbit (which really isn't very descriptive of the Final Fantasy series) and the name Cid.

Pfft. The Spirits Within was a way better "movie" than the subpar, plottless advertisement that was Advent Children. And Doom was ok I guess, way better than I expected. Would have been much better if It was actualy "Doom the movie" but not just a movie sharing the same title and a couple of theams from the 3'd game, but hey, you can't have anything (at least not a SHOOTOUT at the end of a movie based on a SHOOTER!)

Spirits Within is basically awful on every concievable level. The characterizations in general are poorly realized and made iredeemable by the mediocre voice acting and script. The visuals themselves are amazing whenever you're not seeing people talking or walking. The one thing that I do like about it is Elliot Goldenthal's score, now that I've obtained that I can never worry about having to experience the movie itself again.
