I'm sure you guys have seen the updated site... with no real new information... except a list of composers working on the music for the game.
THIRTY SIX COMPOSERS.
Many of them are GIANTS of the industry too!
Akihiro Honda (Konami) - He did music for most of the more recent Metal Gear Solid games... and also Zone of the enders.
Arata Iiyoshi - Apparently he only did music for Pokemon mystery dungeon and beatmania II DX, I can't find anything else on him.
Asuka Ohta - An up and coming Nintendo star... he did the music for New Super mario brothers, yoshi touch and go and also Twilight Princess. If he did the overworld music in that game, he's my hero.
Hajime Wakai - A big name. He did the music for Starfox 64, F-Zero X (Have you HEARD the guitar arrange?!) Pikmin and Wind waker. He's made a name for himself as far as I'm concerned, of course I know it's probably not hard for Nintendo to hire their own musicians for Brawl.
Jun Fukuda - Killer7 and contact is all I could find on him. I know there were a few tracks in Killer7 that I really liked... so I'm looking forward to seeing what he contributes to Brawl.
Kazumi Totaka - Another big Nintendo name. He's most famous for the hidden song he puts in all of his games. I don't think his music is anything that outstanding... but I really liked Waverace 64's soundtrack.
Keigo Ozaki - I dont' know anything about this guy. He's credited for PROJECT SYLPHEED which I don't know anything about.
Kenichi Okuma - From what I understand, this guy's done music for Pia Carrot and Metal Lancer games. Also seems to have done arrangements for Lunar and some other stuff.
Kenji Ito - I only know this guy's music from Shadow Hearts II (which I liked!) But he's done alot. Final Fantasy Legend games on Game boy, Children of Mana, Sword of mana and the Romancing SaGa series. Damn. I actually haven't heard the music from alot of those games but I've been told he's good.
Kenji Yamamoto - Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Mike Tyson's Punch out... this guy is awesome.
Kentaro Ishizaka - He must be a new face at Hal Labs.
Koji Hayama - Weird games like Front mission 3, Ape Escape 2 and Cho aniki.
Koji Kondo - I have no idea who this guy is... probably just some intern working at Nintendo for the summer or something.
Masaaki Iwasaki - He's not credited for a whole lot. Mother 3, and Chelnov are listed on the site. He also worked with Shogo Sakai (also working on Brawl) on alot of games for the NES apparently.
Masafumi Takada - Killer7 and God hand. More games featured on HG101! Seriously though he normally partners up with Jun Fukuda.
Masato Kouda - Devil May Cry series, worked on the Wild Arms series. Apparently Monster Hunter? I don't know him... but those are some big names.
Michiko Naruke - Also credited with Wild Arms. She actually is credited for the whole series except one game.
Minako Hamano - Worked with Kenji Yamamoto on Super Metroid, is also credited for the GBA metroid games. And brain age.
Motoi Sakuraba - Word. Easilly my favorite game composer and the one we got to hear a sample of already. We can hear the song played on the battlefield stage and it sounds like a Smash Brothers level in Valkyrie Profile. Nintendo credits him for Mario Tennis and Golf, but he's more known for Valkyrie Profile, and Star Ocean... along many with other games.
Noriyuki Iwadare - I liked the music in Grandia II, and this guy did the whole series. He's done alot more though... including the Lunar series.
Ryoji Yoshitomi - Nintendo credits him for Warioware... which isn't exaclty known for its soundtrack.
Seiji Momoi - Seems he did the music for Meteos which I wasn't a fan of. He's credited for doing the music in a few SNES games as well... none of which I've heard of.
Shogo Sakai - Some Kirby games and most importantly.... Melee. He's responsible for the orchestrated soundtrack. I've always been a fan of Kirby music, so I guess I'm a fan of his.
Shota Kageyama - Luminous Arc and that's seriously all I can find on him. Any help?
Takahiro Nishi - I got nothing on this guy except for what Nintendo credits him for. More Grandia and Silpheed.
Tomoko Sasaki - NiGHTS! I love the music in NiGHTS! Looks like that's all he's done though. Good enough for me though.
Toru Minegishi - Loads of Nintendo games including Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and others.
Toshiyuki Sudo - Truely... a legend. He did the music for the Everybody Votes channel. I have the arranged soundtrack in my CD changer at all times.... and I loved hearing it live.
Tsukasa Masuko - Mostly credited for the Shin Megami Tensei series, which I dont' know if that's good or bad.
Yasufumi Fukuda - Kamaitachi no Yoru 2? What's that? I dont' have anything on this one.
Yasunori Mitsuda - Xenogears and Chrono Trigger are his most well known soundtracks. Easilly one of the biggest names in the VGM world.... he's almost a household name.
Yoko Shimomura - What annoys me is that Nintendo credits her for Kingdom hearts (a series I hate), but she's done WAY MORE. Including... oh I don't know... SUPER MARIO RPG? So... if Sora or any dumb Kingdom Hearts character gets in... I'm gonna be PISSED! Rant aside... she's done alot of soundtracks.
Yuka Tsujiyoko - Her music is very good. She did the music for the entire Fire Emblem series and also Paper Mario games.
Yusuke Takahama - Nintendo credits him for the "Digital Pinball" series... but it seems he did alot of music for old Data East games... including BAD DUDES (not a big deal... just wanted to type it in all caps.)
Yutaka Iraha - A bomberman game, grandia 1 and Silpheed. Can't find too much on him.
Yuzo Koshiro - He has a HUGE list of work he's done. I love the music in YS I and II... and that was his doing. Actraiser, Streets of Rage 2, Castlevania portrait of ruin, Shenmue, Shinobi and Namco X Capcom just to name a few.
So... exactly how high budget IS THIS GAME? Seriously? it's like.... wow. I know most of you arent' Nintendo fans... and you didn't like Melee and blah blah blah... but you have to admit... this is an impressive gathering!
You might have noticed no Sonic Composers on that list anywhere. That IS interesting. Maybe Sonic won't make it in after all....
You guys have any good info an any of the artists?
