The game in question was released for arcades first, and it was a pretty blatant clone / ripoff of a very popular Konami game which also had received a NES port.

how accurate is this recording to the original hardware?
this honestly sounds like it would come from a computer game (PC, Mac, Amiga), but i don't remember if that's allowed in the rules.
maybe a 3do, or atari jaguar? (though, this thread usually uses less obscure systems and games)
I think that if someone could pin down the system, it would help a lot.
any help from the op, on game genre? it sounds like something you'd hear in an adventure game, but that's a pretty broad category.
