Terrible! Terrible! These apparently unused songs found on the Brawl disc are EXCELLENTI feel really sad that they weren't used. Download them from here: www.editorartist.com/album.php?id=smash_brawl_!_lost_tracks Listen to the great Mario RPG Forest Theme in all it's arranged glory. This track is actually from a very rare arranged Mario RPG soundtrack that I found years ago. Strange that for such a popular game, not too many people know about it. And be sure to get all the Mother themes, much better than the ones they ended up using (at least for Mother 1 & 2). My guess it's because they where too slow and emotional. And by god, WHY did they leave out Link's Awakening Ballad of the Wind Fish???! It's short, but great!

Whoa! That's simultaneously awesome and unfortunate! These are some damn great remixes... the Yoshi's Cookie one is very calming, for instance. I'm surprised that YC even gets a nod; that game rules. Thanks for sharing this with us, Rey! I've a question for thou: Do you mind if I share these tracks with another message board? Also, do you (or anyone else) know where we can get the rest of the soundtrack? This is excellent, but now my compulsive mind wants very much to have the official soundtrack on my hard drive. ;D (Also, I'm going to give this a move to the Video Game Music forum. It'll stand out better there. ) ADD: Oh my word... the redux of Ness' melody is just simply BEAUTIFUL. I nearly cried because of its awesomeness. That's absolutely PERFECT for an end credits theme, I tells ya.

I was wondering why there were some missing track numbers on my Brawl soundtrack. These fill in the holes nicely.

They should've been secrets. I guess those tracks weren't used because stages weren't designed to suit the music.

Not really, there's tons of more music than there are stages. You can have multiple tunes per stage this time around.

Just so there is no confusion, these tracks weren't actually found on the Brawl discs. Data on the disc indicated that these songs had a place in the music roster, but the actual recordings were either never made or removed from the disc. The music files on that website are actually remixes from various other sources, and the intention is to give an idea as to what the tracks could have sounded like.
I learned all of that from comments I read at GoNintendo, so if I'm wrong, feel free to punch me.
EDIT: And even with that said, these songs are still well worth the download.

Well, the Mario RPG arranged track is from an apparent official album. I've never seen it or heard about it before, all I know is that I found it someplace. God homo damn it! It's true, the dude himself made or took those tracks from other sources such as official albums and fan creations. Fruck! www.editorartist.com/game_soundtracks/Super%20Smash%20Bros%20Brawl%20-!-%20Lost%20Tracks/_track_details.htm

I figured these songs weren't official - the Mother series Hippie Battle theme sounded pretty poorly put together, with obvious gaps between the NES, SNES, and GBA versions of the song.

They are official... sort off. The mixing is what's not official Assholes....

Awwww... bogus. Well, that Earthbound remix still rules, even though this news does not. Though... I should have figured that the composition was off-kilter when they specifically used the Beatmania remix of the MGS theme. That seemed a bit weird to me, but... eh, I'm keeping this file folder nonetheless.
