www.hardcoregaming101.net/psychicworld/psychicworld.htmYet another one of those SMS/GG games I was always curious about and decided to research. The Sega versions are only alright, but the MSX version - with its huge, branching levels - is a pretty decent game in its own right.

Thanks for the article. Can't have enough MSX/MSX2 games at HG101.

Interesting?
I completely forgot that these guys were involved with Vay, too.

Interesting game. Didn't make it past the first level on my first try. First level (MSX) was kinda boring. Guess that's how the Sega versions are all the way through?

I dunno, something about comments are off. The SMS/GG versions are the ones that are more linear, the MSX one is more maze-like. The MSX version does have more levels, that were cut for the console released...

I guess we can take a look at that again, but an online translator says: "I thought that stage constitution was too elaborate and made too much an unkind labyrinth."

Can you post the original answer? What is your opinion of the SMS/GG versions of Psycho World (Psychic World)? (Had to space out the characters so they'd display correctly...)

Hmm the first sentence says the level construction was too stiff, but I'm not too sure about the meaning of いじわるな迷宮. Could it mean that the levels were bad mazes, as in not much of a maze? Stiff 凝る might probably mean linear here.
In the second sentence, what did you translate as "the limited view meant"? As far as I understand, it should say something like this (not a very good sentence here, I tried to make it as literal as possible, so that you could better compare with the original sentence):
Since the running speed got adjusted from the original, where you [could run] freely (even more literal: "adjusted from the freedom of the original"), now you couldn't use the highest speed when you weren't able to run constantly, however, this wasn't very satisfying.
Btw, LOL about that:

Stiff 凝る might probably mean linear here. I suppose that would make more sense, but I can't read Japanese. My GDRI cohort did the vast majority of the translation and wasn't terribly familiar with Psycho World, which might explain some of the issues talked about here. From another answer that could have been written a couple different ways... How good is your Japanese? Would you mind looking over the rest of these answers?

I was LOLing at the working title. I can certainly take a look at the answers, my Japanese isn't that impressive, but I'm fairly good at translating. Never hurts to get a second interpretation.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but just figured I'd say something: I read through your Psycho World article after seeing its main character noted in the '80s video game heroines article, and there is one error: Psycho World on the MSX has 8 stages, not 6. I know this because I just beat the game multiple times, and absolutely fell in love with it -- it's super-cool, and the final boss battle feels really epic.

Moved this here. (Almost) every article has a link to the corresponding forum post, although it can be a bit hard to spot on single page articles. It's usually either right before or after the Related Articles, depending on the version of the template that was used.
