The TMNT RPGs on mobile platforms mentioned here seem pretty intriguing. The screenshots suggest that they can be emulated - anybody got a hint regarding how to?

Most likely they run on J2ME-style phones; most of those kinds of games can be run in a program like KEmulator. I don't know much beyond that, though.

That's because you downloaded a cracked version. I have never paid for mine either, but it has always been pay-to-play. I doubt he ever made 'real' money out of it. Maybe at the beginning, but not for the past 10 years or so. What bothers me with these pay-me emu authors (which thankfully don't seem to exist anymore) is that they never updated the emulator as quickly as other free emus of the same era, or add options the public wants. They always work alone, on their free time, adding things slowly and dismissing options the public wants. So why would I pay for something like that when other free emus are much more robust? Thankfully Ootake is a great TG16 and TGCD emu which has a ton of options Magic Engine doesn't have. You could also use MESS, or Bizhawk. Oh, okay. Quite a few months ago I was trying to get it back and noticed that I couldn't find one I didn't have to pay for. I am a firm believer in paying for what I enjoy if it is worth it of course. Like you say though if I am shelling out cash for something I want my money's worth. WOW! thanks man I didn't know about these other PC Engine emulators. I have been trying to find my favorite version of R-Type and MAME is continuing to be an asshole lol. So I moved on to the PC Engine version just to check it out. The Master System version is not without it's charms but it's pretty flickery and such which makes it hard to see a lot of the bullet storm that comes my way. I will defiantly check these others out. Hu-Go! is simple enough but not much meat to it so to speak.

Try the PC Engine CD version, R-Type Complete CD. It even has cutscenes and different endings. Although, they are in Japanese.

that is yet another thing I need to do. Is figure out the process of running the CD titles. I have tried in the past with little to no success but that was some time back. The urge to play Rondo of Blood and forget about Dracula X is strong lol!!!

If I remember correctly, Ootake has its own CD image loader, so that'll get you on the right foot to start with.

Yeah, with Ootake you just load disk images like a regular ROM.

On Mednafen you just need to drag the .cue file into the executable.

I'd suggest going that route, if possible.

Hm. It's been a while since I played it, so I can't remember if the version I used had English voices or not. Probably, though!

The one I played had the German opening (subtitled in English) and the animated cutscenes had English voice acting with who I swear sounded like Crispin Freeman as Dracula. I found that strange, but if it was taken from the PSP version then it makes sense!

Is there such a thing as a 3DO emulator?

I can vouch that 4DO is a pretty fantastic emulator. There's a few games it doesn't like, the biggest loss being Super Wing Commander, but I can guarantee you'll have more luck with it than, say, SSF.
