Hello. I'm having a huge problem with MAME. The games don't run at their normal speed, and as a result, they run too slow. I've tried everything that I could think of: I've tried cleaning up my desktop; I've even tried changing the frame rates by using the F keys, but nothing worked.
Can you help? The version that I have right now is version 124a from March of this year.

What games are you running?

Pretty much the same games that used to work just fine on an earlier version of MAME. But even when I go back to those versions and play them, there's now too much slow down.

Remove all inis and sram. Make sure you didn't change any video options and make sure you don't have the artwork on.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are the inis and sram respectively, and where can I find them?

inis are the files with the .ini extension. SRAM should be in its own folder in the MAME directory.
Did you turn on any filters? Did you change the full-screen resolution?

Did you change the full-screen resolution? 1) In the case, I threw away the folders with the .ini extension and the SRAM. 2) I don't think I turned on any filters (don't even know where you can find that option), and as for full-screen resolution, are you talking about the option to change the screen from standard to pixel aspect? P.S the problem is still there. I even tried throwing away everything that came with the current version of MAME, except for the roms folder and the actual program itself.
