Just press R to group everyone on the same spot, the Yellow arrow will turn Red, now, without moving, press and hold R. If done right, the arrow will disappear and the passengers will follow you automatically without having to call them all the time. It is the best "trick" most people will never know while playing the game. I tried this several, several times, and it only worked once. All other times he just calls for the passengers as soon as you let go of the button. I'm not really clear how this fixes the issues with the AI and the pathfinding though. They're still slow. If the ship rotates they'll still get confused and try to make jumps they can't make. If you fall they'll still dive right after you and get killed. None of this resolves the problem that it's one big, badly implemented escort mission.

Well, of course, you have to keep the R button pressed after the arrow disappears. That's the only way they'll follow you without having to call them all the time. It took me a while to figure out how to do it too since it's not very intuitive.
It fixes a lot of issues because they pretty much make the same jumps as you, so if you make good jumps, so do they (most of the time at least). But yeah, if you miss, they miss too. If they get stuck, then that's when you are supposed to help them. You are not supposed to be leaving them behind.
Personally I use the "passenger follow" technique when I'm going through straight corridors or going from one screen to another (since they follow you automatically). But I use the "passenger call" when I'm supervising them through jumps and things like that.

Does anyone think it might be worthwhile to attempt a proper translation of the game eventually? Kinda like how Aeon Genesis re-translated Assault Suits Valken because the world 'Cybernator' version was altered a fair bit?
It sucks in the english translation of Septentrion how all instances of the words 'die, died, death' etc are replaced by 'perished'. Retarded censoring and makes a lot of the serious dialogue sound less impactful. Also theres an instance where the criminal on the ship Humphrey Kraft says he's m,urdered 3 people in the past. In the english version he says 'I have eliminated 3', which is totally retarded and barely makes sense when having the conversation.
Theres also the removed bar and its characters, and most likely lots of other alterations everywhere. Theres also bugs, like when Capris survives during an ending, the survivor list instead lists 'Luke Heinz' (which itself is an incorrect spelling of Heines). There was also another text fuckup I saw once where a character was talking and a random persons name was nonsensically in the text.
This is one of the most intense, dramatic, and cool games ever made, so I guess if theres enough interest maybe someone can try mention the idea of a proper translation to a romhacker.

There's nothing stopping you from taking a stab yourself. Given that US and Japanese releases already exist, comparing the two should provide an excellent jumping-off point for making further alterations.
