Interesting tidbit about Sente (the manufacturers): Videa was bought by Nolan Bushnell (of Atari fame), and changed into Sente Technologies. The Sente system actually had swappable carts, similar to the Neo Geo MVS. Reading some old coin op mags from the time, it seemed a lot of people were pissed off at this, as they were REQUIRED to change the games on a regular basis. The carts also had missing children alerts, like on the back of milk cartons, that would display during the attract mode. It's unclear whether these got regularly updated or not.

This is the way I see this game: you can't see the clown's legs because they were ripped off of his body, and the whole scene is about him trying to survive a torture trap like those in the "Saw" movies before time runs out. Ha! Take that Sente, I just made your stupid clown game more interesting.

It's a silly article, but I like the way it's written.

It's a silly article, but I like the way it's written. Hey, thanks. I wasn't sure how well a less-than-serious article would go down here, and hearing something like this definitely makes me feel better about that fear. I plan to contribute more in a similar style (i'm already into my game recording/animated gif making process), although the next one will be a bit more historically relevant. It will also likely resolve the foreshadowing from the Snacks 'N article that was put forth in "believe it or not, this is not the worst game about clowns ever made." Also, re: Savagepencil, that's a really interesting fact- had i known about it, I probably could have had something hilarious to say about it. Oh well.
