Vivendi is determined to wipe out any fond or even slightly positive memories anyone has about LSL...

That...is horrible.
And again I maintain that if it's not Al Lowe writing it, it's Leisure Suit Larry in name only.

No, it's real. I actually tried to pirate it, because frankly, I'm too embarrassed to buy this piece of trash, but I'm too lazy to get around SecuROM, so I may as well suck up my pride and put down the $20 for it. Dunno if it's actually at the Gamestops now though.

Finally suffered through some of this and added it to the article: www.hardcoregaming101.net/lsl/lsl5.htmIt's so very, very bad. It flopped so badly that it was released at the budget price of $20, couldn't sell at that level, and then dropped to $10 two months later.

If we give it a few more months, it'll be given away for free and we can toss it into a New Mexico landfill... or maybe make an ersatz Burning Man out of the pile!

I stumbled upon a bunch of typos when reading the interview. Would've put in the corrections, but most are in the answers and I didn't know whether it was contucted in a written form and how to deal with them in that case.
Once in a while I'd go to a usergroups, later on I'd sign autographs on press torus and junkets, (not too sure on that one, as I'm not familiar with usergroups, but shouldn't it be usergroup here, without the s? It also should say press tours)
So when they would check out new products so they were afraid to even have us ship them a Larry game, that someone might catch them with it, let alone play it or approve of it. (the 2nd "so" is too much, I think)
The budget for first Larry game was almost zero. (for the first Larry game)
I think there' a different audience for each one. (an s is missing)
If you put everything you think it's not gonna be a good game. (put everything in. maybe a comma after think, to make the statement more clear?)
We were in a transitional period where we thought that everybody was gonna buy a CD-ROM ,but they didn't take off that fast, they were still very expensive. (space after the comma instead of before)
And eventually when it got down to $100, they'd be, yeah, put in a CD in it. (an "in" too much?)
We were planning were CD support but that was a little early. (2nd "were" is too much)
It's really strange, you don't actually play as Larry, but instead he's just like a pump, surrounded by anime girls with DDD chests. (that's actually from a question. Should it mean pimp instead of pump?)
Everybody knew If I knew wrote something and I didn't do that, they were supposed to tell me and I'd fix it. (2nd knew too much)
Like gamers known Ken Levine for Bioshock, but it's not actually called Ken Levine's Bioshock on the box. (Like gamers know Ken Levine)
It was the most bizarre to game to play, because you'd get to situation and say, what would I do? (to a situation)
So the big project that summer was to go through and come with any kind of hints, some kind of dialogue and radio commands that would enable you to figure out what the ll you were supposed to be doing. (what the hell? Is that self-censored?)
So you would cater that kind of crowd. (not quite sure, cater to?)
So we tried everything we could think of to get anyone's attention The custom designed demo was just that. (period missing)
"Do you realize that named your character Torin and the lead character in the Black Cauldron was named Taran?" (you named your character Torin)

Huh, I even went over it like twice and didn't even realize there were so many typos. It was transcribed from a 45 minute interview so a lot of it was shorthand translated back into longhand.

Speaking of typos, I found this while reading the whole article again:
lsl2.htm: After come crazy hijinx, Larry ends up on a tropical island, complete with a nude beach.
Beside that I noticed in Larry 1 part that you called the rope as ribbon once (or the ribbon as rope twice).

Dear Lord, Box Office Bust sounds like it might even dethrone eXtreme PaintBrawl as one of the worst games of all time. I'd rather have a decent concept with a barely-done implementation than a finished game with a terrible concept. =P
