I finding out from many websites that Compile developed the game Sylphia which is a PC Engine Super CDROM overhead shooter. I thought this was worth mentioning if you wanted to include it in the article. There is many sources on the net but here is one: www.pcengine.com.br/sylphia/sylphia.htm

I've known about this but it's always been kinda of a big question mark. Like some Compile games that have been published for other companies, there's no mention of them anywhere, unless it's on their old web page or something. I never beat the game either to look at the credits. It's kinda subpar for Compile game too...but not bad. Closer to Star Soldier. The whole article needs a bit of updating, I should probably put in the really old game Gulkave. Taken from www.classicgaming.com/Shmups/xenocidefiles/pcenginecd.html:Compile lists this game on its discography, yet the game is inferior and plays nothing like a Compile shooter. However, observation of the ending credits reveals LMS Recordings, a branch of Compile, did the sound for the game, so that may or may not be their only contribution) But also this: shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=180311&sid=2ccc77462835d97ec6957fa51ebad639If there's so much controversry, it may as well be added. EDIT: Reading that Wikipedia release list is depressing. Like there's a ton of awesome shooters and stuff, and then after 1994, it's nothing but Puyo Puyo and the occasional Madou Monogatari. I mean, I dig Puyo Puyo and all, but that's all they became in their later years. -_-

Yes, its worth mentioning. I'm going to try to beat the game to see if any information of Compile is at the end.
UPDATE: Well, I managed to finish the game on normal mode. There is no mention of Compile durying the end credits. A whole bunch of LMS Recording props are mentioned. I noticed while playing the game the SCORE on the top left and the SPEED triangles are the exact same format as Gunhed uses. I do believe Compile employees had part in developing this game or Tonkinhouse stole Gunheds SCORE and SPEED up format. The game is very enjoyable with nice mythological background art. There is 8 levels with tons of variety of enemies, subosses, bosses. I've heard this game fetches for quite a sum on ebay. I dont know if its worth the price but still very fun game.

How come klov and gamefaqs list an arcade Aleste 2? I have never heard of such thing before. Here's the klov link, it even has a screenshot though it's probably from the MSX2 version. klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=6844

Weird Indeed. I'd place my bet it's a mistake in their database... They're human too, after all.
There was a Spriggan Mark2 PCB for sale on ebay which generated a lot of buzz... Don't know if it was an officially licensed Compile game or a hack. However, and arcade board of Aleste 2 is very unlikely. Though it would be cool.

I just found a MSX game called Exa Innova. I believe it may be made by Compile.

According to various sources it is, when Compile was still known as Programmers-3 (aka P3). The game was originally released in 1983 under P3's name, but was afterwards re-released in 1988 under Compile's. Somewhere between 1983 and 1988, P3 became Compile. Also, the article is missing some other games: Blaster Burn mini-shooters (released in various issues of Compile's Disc Station, MSX disk magazines)

This site claims that Final Justice, Girly Block and Jagur may have been made by Compile. Wow. If these are all Compile games is there any way to verify that? And if so would we see these added to the Compile entry?

I am. I'll see if I can dig up their Japanese Wikipedia entry. I know someone linked an old webpage of their a long time ago with their gameography. It might be a bit hard since a lot of these seem to be under their name before they became Compile. Honestly, though, it's not exactly on the forefront of my "things to do". EDIT: ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%91%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB_%28%E3%83%86%E3%83%AC%E3%83%93%E3%82%B2%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0%E3%82%BD%E3%83%95%E3%83%88%E4%BC%9A%E7%A4%BE%29#.E3.82.B7.E3.83.A5.E3.83.BC.E3.83.86.E3.82.A3.E3.83.B3.E3.82.B0.E3.82.B2.E3.83.BC.E3.83.A0URL is screwed up, you'll need to copy/paste and delete the spaces and line breaks. They don't list their shmups other than "Zanac Series", "Aleste series", "Guardic Gaiden" and "Gunhed". There's a lot of other interesting information there though. One of the main guys - the head of the Madou Monogatari games - left Compile to form Sting, which I'm currently working on an article for. (Sting made Riviera and Yggdra Union for the GBA, among others.) A few members went to Eighting (they of the Naruto fighting games and Bloody Roar, and a few others like the Kururin games), and a lot of them took refuge and/or created Milestone (Chaos Field, Radirgy, Karasu.) This is all pretty juicy, I need to read the Japanese Wikipedia more often.

I don't know if you are aware of it but you seem to be missing the Seirei Senshi Spriggan game from the compile article.
I think it looks a lot like MUSHA for the Genny.

Instead of a new thread, you could've posted that in this thread. It's not like it was hard to find or anything.

If that's the PC Engine one, it's there.
