Yeah SNES MKII is a pretty worthy version of the game. The controls are much more accurate than any of the other SNES ports and, until the Saturn port came out years later it was the best way to play the game at home.
Playing as Jade, Noob Saibot and Smoke in this is a cool novelty, though I don't know if I'd ever actually use them against another human since they're just super fast versions of their respective characters here, extremely broken.

Someone actually takes the time to hack SNES MKII? My head hurts.

There's the "Super Lesbian ______" sports series of NES roms where it's just Tennis, etc. but with the sprites changed to be nude. So if anything this is one of the more average hacks out there.

Actually, the best version is the 32X one. Arcade perfect with no loading times.

This has been bugging me for a while. Why the hell did these two threads get moved? They're not about emulation, they're about the games. The bigass Mother 3 thread never got moved.

These got moved because they're about rom hacks of relatively old games compared to something like Mother 3, which was garnering its own threads and discussion following the translation process and Nintendo's decision to not bring it to the US. Actually, the best version is the 32X one. Arcade perfect with no loading times. While the 32X is a great version, it's definitely not arcade perfect, and while not all of Shao Khan's voice samples are in the Saturn port the sound effects overall are definitely the best of the home ports. I'd also say it controls the best, and it while it has load times they're definitely an improvement over the PSX port. Also I do think the animation on the 32X version is inferior to what's on the Saturn, it's definitely not quite as good as the arcade (though again, close). Overall, looking at the controls/etc. I definitely like the Saturn version the most of the home ports from that era. Some people feel the 32X version's colors are not as good as the arcade either (that it uses shading on par with the SNES port) but you'd probably have to have them next to each other tell since the animation is so good. Either way, calling the 32X version arcade perfect is moot since even if everything I just posted wasn't true, it doesn't have the arcade game endings.

Well, colors on the 32X can look very bad on composite connexion instead of RGB. The Genny's composite in very dull.
The SNES sounds much closer to the arcade (not necessarily a better thing, since some of the FM "remixes" turned out to be better), has very good color, details like the hooks on the first stage, endings, but runs at a lower resolution.
The Genny and 32X one run at a higher resolution and play very smoothly (because of the wonderful Motorola CPU), have completely different music, and in the case of Genesis some sacrifices, specially with audio samples and several graphical details, make it very different from the arcade.
The MK II versions I felt better and most fluid where actually the Genesis and 32X ones, and I like them even more than the arcade. Does the arcade MK II run at 60fps, or is it 50fps?

Did anyone ever mention that crazy ass Genesis UMK3 hack, where they put every character, and every variation of them into the game, with tons of new fatalities and stuff, around here when that came out?
Required actually downloading the already patched rom, and a special hacked version of the emulator, so yeah, you wouldn't see that around the usual rom hacking sites.
