Hell yeah! I've loved Mole Mania the day it was released when I immediately bought it. I completed it numerous times and even my ex girlfriend loved it. It's a shame Nintendo has completely abandoned these cute fellas, not even granting them a trophy in Smash Bros letalone a sequel.

Good article and great game, but using the Super Game Boy version screenshots would have so much better. The game has custom colors (and a nice border) that makes it look much more enjoyable than just plain black & white.

Yeah much better. Although, just including one screen with the border would be ok, but the rest would look so much better with the color"full" screenies. I don't know who took the pics, but I think Kurt has something against the Super Game Boy, 'cause he never includes SGB borders on games that have them

I didn't take the pics, but honestly, I have no idea how to enable it in VisualBoy Advance. I generally don't use Super Gameboy color schemes, because I think they look pretty ugly. I'll stick up these comparison screens though.

options>gameboy>sgb/sgb2. you can leave the borders disabled if you prefer, or you can enable them in the "gameboy" menu.
despite being more of a puzzle, it's cool how it has a bit of a gameboy zelda feel to it.

Here's also more proper logo for the article, if needed.

I'll stick up these comparison screens though. Yeah just enable it in the Gameboy options and make sure to have "border enabled" if you want to see the border. And yeah, lots of GB games look ugly in SGB mode, but that's just the ones that aren't SGB enhanced. And from the ones that are SGB enhanced, mostly the crappy licensed games are the ones that look fugly. The quality games usually look great in SGB mode (look at Donkey Kong). But when it comes to SGB I'm mostly interested in articles mentioning if the games have custom borders or enhanced music. The reason? Because no one seems to remember or acknowledge the SGB and HG101 being the retro site that it is, it's only fitting that it does

But when it comes to SGB I'm mostly interested in articles mentioning if the games have custom borders or enhanced music. A list of the games that are playable in multiplayer on SGB using SNES controllers would be nice too. Wikipedia has a list of SGB games (actually pretty long last I checked, and even includes some JP and GBC games), but it doesn't list games with a SGB only multiplayer feature, doesn't list which games have multiple palettes (though it does list multiple borders), and some games with enhanced sound aren't listed as having enhanced sound. I'm assuming this goes for duper expensive? Damn, looks RAWESOME. Just my kinda game. I checked ebay and it actually sells for cheap. I got mine for cheap from an eb. Fun game, though I still haven't beaten it. Some of those puzzles are insane. I'm actually thinking of picking another cart up so I can experience 2 player mode. Vs mode doesn't even show up on Super Game Boy.

I think the SGB list is pretty complete. It lists all the GB and GBC games with SGB support. I don't know what you mean about SGB multiplayer feature exactly, are you talking about the ability to use the SNES' second controller instead of a link cable? If that's the case, then add to the list the ones you know. About multiple palettes, it is assumed that any game made before the SGB will have multiple palettes to chose from whereas games made after the SGB will have specific ones. As for enhanced music, there aren't many games that use it and a lot of games don't have any SGB enhancements despite the boxart saying it does. You can't listen to the enhanced music on any emulator, but the guys at gshi.org (http://gshi.org/vb/showthread.php?t=3180&page=4) managed to dump the music and they are now at snesmusic.org As far as I know the SGB games with enhanced music at wikipedia is very complete, if you have any unknown ones, then add it

I think the SGB list is pretty complete. It lists all the GB and GBC games with SGB support. It doesn't list the features for half of them, though. Yes, second controller instead of link cable. That's what I meant by "A list of the games that are playable in multiplayer on SGB using SNES controllers". It's just two (and some cases more with a 4-player adapter) players on SGB without a link cable. Many of the Takara published fighting games have this feature. A couple of the GB Bomberman games can even been played with 4-players. That's not always the case. There's are some games that have multiple borders and one palette and games with multiple palettes and a single border. I'm aware of this. I had the GB Lion King. ugh.... I have a couple Super Game Boys and I tried the games on a real SGB and SNES. I know for sure Contra The Alien Wars has it and I think International Track and Field (yeah, sounds odd to me too, but the music sounded better to me when I tried it on SNES. Could just be the speaker) and Galaga/Galaxian have it too (not completely sure on this one either). Sorry if my previous comments sounded odd, but while the list has a great deal of games, it doesn't have the features listed for many of them. I need to play some games a bit more if I add any to Wikipedia to be sure of the features.

There are GB games playable in multiplayer on the SGB? Oo I always wished for games to do that, thinking none did it.

There are GB games playable in multiplayer on the SGB? Oo I always wished for games to do that, thinking none did it. I'm not sure why it isn't better documented, one Wario Blast review on gamefaqs even says it has no multi (which it does, battle mode on Super Game Boy up to four players using an adapter, though each player has to press a button on their controller to play). I remember talking to Nintendo's customer service asking about SGB multiplayer after reading about the import Samurai Spirits GB in EGM and they thought it was impossible. I was excited when the game came here and I tried the multi for myself. Impressive cart for GB, but still pales compared to the NeoGeo version. Very odd how it has a very nice use of palettes and two player mode, but no border, though. I agree that Mole Mania has a nice palette on SGB. It's neat how it's one of those that has multiple palettes too. Cool border, as well.
