All 3.5 articles in that little section touched my heart and made the world shine, just that little more. The bile I felt for DQ8 was never put forth so eloquently, the despair on playing animal crossing never expressed thus.
So yeah, write more plzthx. I'm thinking some big-time titles like Halo 1 (2?), or maybe one of the zeldas. This newest one for the wii? Sky's the limit.

Yeah but I love the *shit* out of Half Life 2.
I could write a huge big rant about how much I don't care about Twilight Princess, and how Okami is thousands of times more inspired, but I've played a total of maybe fifteen minutes of Zelda: TP (lol), and those were spread over the past year and a half. So, I figure I'd wait until it comes out. Maybe Nintendo will actually do something right!
....
Probably not though.

You mean to say Nintendo actually makes bad games?

You mean to say Nintendo actually makes bad games? Nah, Kurt just grew up with Sega. ;D I would SO write one for Tomb Raider, but A. I've got a shitload of work that won't cease until a few days into December, and 2. I haven't played any TR game in quite the while, so my frame of reference would be hazy.

You mean to say Nintendo actually makes bad games? Not "bad" persay. Nintendo themselves rarely makes a game that's flat out awful. Which is leagues better than, say, Sega nowadays, as much as it pains me to say that. To me, their games just feel really...uninspired. This isn't just age talking - I felt the same way when I was like ten. Note that Metroid does not fall into this category.

Someone must bash Guitar Hero players that wish to become very skilled at it as a waste of time that could've been put into playing a REAL guitar.

I would love to see a Cranky Gamers article of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Bit off topic, but since it was mentioned here, I might as well ask - what did happen to Sega as of late? Is it due to the lack of arcade releases by them, them publishing crap by other developers, or some other reason altogether? Seriously, they used to develop some of the most fun games ever (though I always thought Nintendo made more polished games), but nowadays, their games are...bleh.

Well, a cranky Sega article would be nice, asking what went wrong and pointing out how they could get back on track.
And HL2 is not a bad game, but being a huge fan of the original the sequel seemed so.... underwhelming. Maby I was expecting too much, but I found it disappointing how linear it was (I relay wanted to explore this beautiful dystopian world they crafted in better detail) how the AI worked (I remember the enemies in the original actually being smarter), it's pacing (I never felt as rushed as in the original, getting to the surface meant survival) and it's overuse of exploding barrels. I almost had a better time playing Unreal 2, a game almost everybody hates for some reason.
Also, a cranky gamers article asking were all the good crpgs went would be appreciated. It seems they died after both Black Isle and Troika went out of business (Perhaps it started when EA nurtured the Ultima series?)

Black Isle went out of business?
I once tried to submit a CG article for Metroid Prime... but it wasn't "cranky" enough. I'm just not capable of the anger and bile that place needs anymore.
Well.... Kurt, think I still have it in me to do an anti-Squaresoft rant?

From Wikipedia:
"On December 8, 2003, in the midst of serious financial difficulties, Interplay laid off the entire Black Isle Studios staff."
And I'm all for more anti-squaresoft rant. How it destroyed Enix and other great development studios (Japanese EA?). How they can't seem to find a decent translator for most of their games (thank dog for fan translations). How they almost always let their more interesting titles stay in japan but use money and effort to give us crap like the Bouncer. And remember to include the character that pretty much sums up what's gone wrong with Final Fantasy: Squall Leonhart.

Oh, and be sure to mention how that Advent Children commercial of a movie sucked and how Spirits Within was actually okay (Although it shouldn't have had Final Fantasy in the title).
