Interesting. I've never heard of it.

Yeah, I researched that a little and I think it was false. Lunacy has a recurring motif of butterflies and the person who e-mailed me all those years ago must've thought it had something to do with Philemon. As it turns out, it's actually supposed to be the spiritual successor to the Sega CD/Saturn game Mansion of Hidden Souls, which was also all about the butterflies.

That still interests me, because I like Mansion of Hidden Souls.

Lunacy seemed like an interesting game to me anyway; I tried it briefly a long time ago. Perhaps that and Mansion of Hidden Souls could be an article target in the future?

Oh-ho, so that gem is starting to inch closer to a release, is it? I've been patiently waiting for further news on the translation effort, and I am not disappointed.

Both Megami Tensei and the remake Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei now have completed fan translation patches. (http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2287/) (http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2263/).
Still waiting on Aeon Genesis to finish If.... Maybe their Soul Hackers, too, but at this point, as Atlus has released a (very good) official one, I'm sure he considers the project superfluous.

This article needs to be updated. Since it was created, the following Shin Megami Tensei games have come out: - Shin Megami Tensei IV
- Devil Survivor Overclocked
- Devil Survivor 2
- Persona 3 Portable
- Persona 4 Golden
- Persona 4 Arena
- Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
- Persona Q
Also a whole bunch of upcoming games. Other things that have happened since regarding SMT include: - Two animated adaptions of Persona 4
- An animated adaption of Devil Survivor 2
- Persona 3 The Movie
- The classic Persona games have been re-released on PSP
I'm fine with providing the sections on Persona 3 Portable (since I've already played and beaten it) as well some of the animation stuff, but anyone else wants to help with this? Also, the layout of the article needs to be updated to match the current look of HG101.

But, if you talk to do either derboo, or Discoalucard, you can ask how to help yourself. They'd be immensely grateful I'm sure.

We know, it's just that updating this article with reviews of massive RPGs is practically a full time job at this point. One of the books I have vaguely planned for the future is about Shin Megami Tensei, which will basically be writing this entire article from scratch, though even then I'll need to solicit contributions for a lot of these, considering how huge the series is (and has become).

shmuplations.com/kobayashikaneko/ Translated 1996 interview with both SMT designer Kazuma Kaneko and SaGa designer Tomomi Kobayashi. It's less an interview as much as it is a conversation between the two on their influences and style.
