I thought Aliens: CM was still coming...or someones making an Aliens game at least.
Also Dead Island is a bit MIA though I hope it does come out.

I thought Aliens: CM was still coming...or someones making an Aliens game at least. Sega has the Aliens license, and they had a bunch of games in development, all of which are apparently on 'indefinite hiatus'. Obsidian was developing an Aliens RPG, but no longer, and Pandemic [EDIT: it was actually Gearbox. Oops!] was putting together the colonial marines game until a couple months ago. Sega pulled the plug. Who knows why. The only Aliens game I'm aware of is the new Aliens vs. Predator game currently in development at Rebellion. That's good news: the first (and best!) AvP game was Rebellion developed too. Other than that though, I don't think there's anything coming for sure.

Yeah I was under the impression that a new AVP had been announced loved both of them to bits so I really hope they pull them off well. Honestly I thought the second one was just as good...it helps that the cleaner graphics mean it's not quite as badly aged.

I know Echo Night already received a mention in the first post, but I thought it'd be worth forwarding that there's a translation underway for the second Echo Night for the PSX. Supposedly it's the best of the 3- beating out the original (Which I've played. It's a flawed game, but it has some compelling characters and a few very tense moments) and Echo Night Beyond for the PS2 (I've only played a bit of it). echonight.wordpress.com/

One of the Dreamcast launch titles, Blue Stinger, which was one of the better ReSi clones out there. Not a bad game at all, really.

yep, the character models are clearly on the hilarious side!... strangely that mostly concerns the protagonist, with a fine bright blue t-shirt ans san-goku hair.
But the monsters are quite cool, and the fully 3-d environments were quite allright for the time (this was a good solid year before Code Veronica). all in all, it is maybe more a very prototypical Dead Rising than a ReSi (lots of bazookas, kids!); and if you really want terrifyingly awful character models, Carrier is leagues above it. But it's a nice little B-Game, and I'm sure you can get it for under 5 bucks.
And yes, there were some nice creepy designs buried in there.
Now I'm not saying it's great or really atmospheric in any way... but browsing through the posts in this thread, I've seen much more ridiculous anyway! Love peace and Hairgrease.

I'm crossing my fingers for Aliens: Colonial Marines and I'm hoping that Silent Hill: Arcade is atleast a decent light-gun shooter when it gets ported to the Wii. As for Six Days in Fallujah the creators keep saying its a different type of survival horror. Not sure what that means, but I'm willing to try it out. Does anybody have any other upcoming survival horror I didn't list? Also this is unrelated, but while I have the ears and eyes of survival horror fans, how does Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare on the Dreamcast compare to the PS2 version? Is it exactly similar? Are the graphics better? Or are there even new features on the PS2 version?

I also opt for Blue Stinger. The game very obviously doesn't take itself seriously (You buy your bullets in vending machines?!!) and if taken that way, is very fun and entertaining, though I still have to finish it. The acting itself isn't horrible, but the synching on the lips is horrendous.
As for Six Days in Fallujah, I hear it won't be released on time due to some issues about it being too realistic. I have yet to do research to see if this is true, but it would not surprise me if it was considering it is based off of real content.
Also, both the Parasite Eve games are decent for what they are. One is a pain in the butt, even if you do level up, but 2 has a very odd system that I wasn't sure I liked, especially since it made it see Aya had somehow lost all her powers between game 1 and game 2.

Plus, you see the corpse of Dogs (one of the characters) getting dumped into a trolley for a mass grave/dumping ground in the "Killerman" level (where you end up walking through an area filled with the millions of people killed by the theme park).

Now you make me want to try the game just for that reference. Dogs was pretty cool, definitely stronger than Eliot, albeit much slower.

It has a really good sense of humor, and there's a lot of "postmodern" moments that I'm surprised nobody talks about (then again, nobody talks about it...period). Too bad they never released the Xbox port, it might have found some more fans. BTW, you can get health back by drinking "Hassy" soda in Illbleed, which was also in Blue Stinger.

Illbleed would be better if it didn't punish exploration. It also has an incredibly fun unlockable totally unrelated multiplayer minigame and that bizarre near-nudity easter egg.

I think I haven't seen it mentioned, but... Killer 7 is well worth a look. It's a bit hard to classify it as pure survival horror, since the whole point of the game is to blur the lines and incorporate a bit of everything. But I think the Heaven Smiles, their suicide bomber tactics and their laughter alone make it a bit of a SH game.
Add their abject appearance, some very tense situations... the whole creepiness of the game... heck yes I think it qualifies. And I'll never stress enough how cool and unique eyperience this game is. This one I strongly recommend.
After all, you retrieve power-ups from the talking severed head of a female serial-killer that you find in the cylinder of washing machines, so... yeah. That game is really seriously creepy. I have friends who play ReSi like it's Kirby, but who couldn't stand the overall perversion in this game.
I, on the other hand... ( :
