Summer was the season of SNK. Winter seemed to be the season of Falcom. Spring is just around the corner. What is going to be the theme for Spring?
I think a good theme would be surprisingly good lisenced games, either based on TV shows, movies, sports stars, etc. Lately, I've been working on an article for Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, and that gave me the idea. There's a lot of titles out there from every generation of gaming that would make a great subject.
I always thought the 16-bit Jurassic Park games were usually good and atmospheric. And I've always had a soft spot for Judge Dredd on SNES. Demolition Man was also very good.
The arcades too were also a source of many great lisenced games. Who doesn't have fond childhood memories of the Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or X-Men?
More recently, there's games like Chronicles of Riddick, the Lord of the Rings beat'em ups, X-Men Legends, and a slew of other titles.

Im with the new guy. We should do licensed games now. It's kind of still falcom flavor though FYI

After Falcom,I think this site should cover other great yet overlooked software houses... It would be great seeing articles on European gamemakers of the past such as Delphine ( whose masterpiece Flashback is already covered on this site) or Cinemaware...

After Falcom,I think this site should cover other great yet overlooked software houses... ...like Micro Cabin, the creator of Xak series?

Cinemaware sounds like it could be a good article. I have access to the complete Amiga TOSEC set, so I could probably do it - though I would need to set up WinUAE again. I have played It Came From The Desert, though (and can acknowledge the connection between that and the secret C&C Red Alert mission, "It Came From Red Alert").

If there's going to be a Delphine article, I'm doing Out of This World. No questions asked. That's one of my favorite games ever. To hell with Flashback!

Out of this World is a gorgeous piece of gaming, nothing short of amazing then and now, I think obscure developers/crashed and burned developers would be a nice theme..mind you GOOD licensed games that garner no respect could also be pretty nice.

Freeware was asked about way back when. That is off limits. If not I would have already done a Kenta Cho write up. I do believe this site would be wise to create a freeware forum at this message board, however.

And I was thinking of It Came From The Desert indeed. As for WinUAE,to avoid issues with configuration try the excellent Lemonade frontend. @mp83: never played a game from Micro Cabin, but the less they are famous and the cooler are their games, the better it is. ;D

I need to update my threads more. I think we could do a "Homebrew" Article if it were on the bigger games, like Cave Story which is possibly so popular on the internet if it was a selling game I'm betting it would be something chart topping. If there was an attempt to do "Japanese freeware games" It would take longer then covering the Street Fighter series particularly because there are so many of them
