What a pity -I can't think of anywhere more appropriateto talk about PC-88games than in an import-only column of a retro mag, esppecially when the 88 and the 98 are bursting at the seams with undiscovered gems. Thanks for the scans - I enjoyed the read

Talk about obscure! I never, ever heard of The Divide before this article. I wonder if the PC version has particular problems running on Windows XP, there seems to be a copy or two on eBay.

Since I can't find a guide or manual I'll ask here: -What's the purpose of the room in ice chasms with a platform that sends you to the world map screen when you step on it?
-Is there a way to switch between visited rooms on the stage map screen that I've missed?

I've also started playing this recently (always looking for good Metroid alternatives):
Trying to bring Super Metroid into the third dimension is quite admirable (especially for its time) but I can't say the developers have quite succeeded in that regard. It rather adds a bunch of problems, like constantly having to find the right camera-angle and things like trying to measure jump distance and aiming at airborne enemies are a bit of a chore. Overall it's a much more confusing game than it should've been (making it 2,5D instead might have worked better).

It has some problems with annoying vertical rooms and ending up behind pillars and walls due to the camera, but aiming works alright if you zoom in and seemingly isn't that important once you get more mines.
The room I found was a teleporter, which is nice to have although just getting to them can take a while due to vertical platforming and loading times. Finally found the cooling unit which is in the desert area itself (ugh), finecombed the entire world to find it.
Bosses are pretty good and I like the overall vibe of the game. Somehow it reminds me of the 90s show Lexx.

Somehow it reminds me of the 90s show Lexx. Remember that one. Had a crush on Eva Habermann from the movie at the time, as a 'jung' man i was.

Brunnen G is original G.
So I beat it and checked both endings but is there no way to save your friend?
