Yeah I was going to say something to Dave about the crosshair thing but I forgot. I'll see if he minds retaking some.

I don't think it's worth the effort, TBH. Maybe make a note of it in the text and that should be fine.

Sorry guys. I tried to get the crosshair in the bottom corners of the screen in as many shots as possible. I wanted the shots to be action-packed and that was pretty difficult to accomplish by turning off the mouse-scope feature every few minutes. ZSNES shouldn't include overlay items like error messages and the crosshair in shots anyway. It bypasses filters like 2xSai automatically, but not the crosshair. WTF?

You can always use the method I use (on zsnes): If you want to capture a shot while you are shooting or something that needs the crosshair then all you have to do is make your shot, save state right away, remove crosshair and then load state. To avoid the stupid "save state loaded" messages on the screen just press F1 and wait a few seconds. You can advance one frame there or move the dialog screen up or down to make it disappear too.

Editing them out of the images would take ages If by ages, you mean about 30 minutes, then yes, you're correct. Click!

How? What does it do? I can't download from megashitload. Apparently if you don't live in the USA you only get 1 slot PER COUNTRY.
Does it separate the image in layers or something? Or does it replace the colors?

Huh? It's Battle Clash and Metal Combat screenshots from the article, but without the crosshairs. I photoshopped them out. Anyway, maybe Sendspace is better: Click!

Ah! I thought you were sending me a l33t program that allows one to edit stuff like that easily.
How did you do it? Did you separate the screens by layers? I didn't know zsnes screenshots saved that information since MAME doesn't even do that.

Intelligent Systems is a PART of Nintendo. Same thing. It's completely internalized. Differentiating between the two description is like saying that their janitorial staff is merely a part of Nintendo. Obviously I was not saying that everything that Nintendo does can acurately be credited to Intelligent Systems.

Back in the day Nintendo separated their teams into "branches" called R&D 1,2,3 & 4 (Research & development). Later each of those teams adopted individual names that kind of made them look like companies on their own, even though they are just teams within Nintendo.

Are those screenshots IDENTICAL to how they would look if they had not been photoshopped?

Are those screenshots IDENTICAL to how they would look if they had not been photoshopped? Yes. It's not like editing crosshairs out is a hard task, especially when there isn't too much variation in graphics (same graphics used often/repeatedly) and when there isn't too many pixels to edit out (each crosshair takes only 65 pixels). Here's an example how to edit one of the screenshots: There were only few screenshots where I needed other screenshots' help to edit them properly, and some of them were taken by me.

Ah, all you did was cut and paste. That could be done quickly in windows paint too. I thought you were using some nifty photoshop feature to edit the cursor out. Since the cursor is not part of the game's graphics I think you can separate the image by layers using photoshop and easily remove the cursor without having to cut and paste anything. Also, a lot of screenshots have a garbage line on the top of the images. That means that whoever took the images is using a really old version of zsnes and an update is necessary

Ah, all you did was cut and paste. That could be done quickly in windows paint too. In most parts, yes, but why do that when you have more powerful picture editing software to work with? How? Does Zsnes saves pictures in layers? Not that I know of. Oh yeah! Forgot to mention that I removed those as well in the editing progress (made the garbage line black). There's still few screenshots with garbage on the bottom of gameplay area (floor textures), but I can't do anything about that. I have the latest WIP version of Zsnes and these games don't even work like they used to with older Zsnes versions. So, if one wants to play these games, would be better NOT to update to the latest WIP version.
