"well... how do you expect to feel any sense of blah blah if you never challenge yourself?" Ah ok, I hate that kind of thinking too. Those kinds of people probably use the word "challenge" and "accomplishment" in a different way than I would when talking about games. That sort of accomplishment is more like... you need to play some super hard mode to prove to yourself you're awesome, because otherwise how will you ever know what you're capable of? Doesn't necessarily matter what the game is, as long as you're "challenging" yourself. I think at that point it would be like turning a game into a job. It's a way for some people to make games more important/meaningful/useful. I definitely take games seriously, but I don't make them serious. Like you, I won't struggle in a game just for the sake of struggling. After a bout 5 minutes of playing any game I can gauge how well I'll be able to do and if I want to keep investing time in it. Reminds me of a friend of mine who-- no matter how much he hates it-- will force himself through every game he purchases. I ask him why and he says "to get my money's worth." lol. It's such crazy backwards thinking I don't even bother explaining why, because he must believe it pretty strongly to keep paying money to waste his time like that.

I dislike when people drive above the speed limit. It is a speed limit, not a recomendation. I know that is how it "works" (10 below 10 above or whathaveyou) but it is pretty annoying. 10 below, please, or else they should change the name.

Yeah, something like that.
Like I said, it's not a huge peeve or anything, I just tend to stop paying attention when people get like that.
This...
And put on your damn seatbelt... put away your cell phone, and for the love of fuck, turn off you hi-beams when you see another car coming, and quit acting like I'm being anal. Have you ever watched a man die on the roadside? I have.

Something that pisses me off is that nobody at school likes video games the way I do.
I'm not even saying "as much" because I can't judge that so well. I mean, I don't plug in massive hours of gaming time, and I'm not very good at games, but I think there's something else.
Like, I play a lot of games. I own a decent amount of games, and I have a wide knowledge. But every time I say I play video games and someone chimes in "oh yeah, me too" they just play the usual shit that teenagers play. Heck, I'd go as far as to say I usually like older games than newer ones, but I can't see why these guys can't appreciate what came before the current generation.
So what makes me so weird? I like Asian cinema which shouldn't be so odd, but apparently it is weird. Weird enough to kill a few conversations. I like other movies too, y'know. I enjoy classic films, new films, horror films, comedy films, romantic films... Everything.
The same thing with anime. People have so many misconceptions, and when I DO find someone who knows anything they end up being kinda weird. I've gotten over that and actually hang out with that "clique" from time to time, but still. And hell, they only like current stuff full of moe and all that crap. Lucky Star, all that. How about something y'know good for once? I enjoy anime for the same reasons I can like TV shows in live action or movies. It is all the same to me, just a story with some cool shit going on.
And music, I like so much music, from a wide scope and range of genres, from many nations. And yet I can also talk about Lady GaGa, or Britney Spears. But for some reason I fall into the odd category.
Yeah, that pisses me off. Why the fuck can't people open their minds and enjoy whatever they want?

Something that pisses me off is that nobody at school likes video games the way I do. Man, I totally understand that. High school was really rough for me. It seemed as though no one else enjoyed video games or even acknowledged their existence, let alone loved them, or could name their favorite character from an RPG. Then again, I grew up in a town of less than 5,000 people, and my graduating class had around 53 kids in it. You're in a fairly large city, so you'd think there'd be more diversity out there. Don't stop a-rockin'!

Yeah, I think we have 53,000. At least, that's what our road sign says Thanks for the support though

Hmmm High School was different for me. Very large HS though, nearly 3,000 kids in only 3 grades 10-12). My graduating class was well over 800. To me pretty much everyone one at least played a little bit video games at some point with the exception of some of the girly girls. But all my friends in HS played, even kids who I wouldn't have guessed to did. Also most everyone I talked to owned an NES as some point. In fact if it wasn't for all my high school friends talking about Final Fantasy 7 I might have not gotten back into games.

When I'm going the speed limit (and I mean exactly the speed limit, hooray for cruise control) and some asshole decides to speed by me at 90 miles per hour, because apparently I'm going too slow for him. Even worse are the idiots on cell phones who get mad at you when you change lanes and move in front of them, despite the fact that they would have seen your blinker on ten seconds ago if they were paying attention to the traffic around them instead of their goddamn phones.

I wish bicyclists would stick to the bloody bike lanes! That's why the government paid so much for extra paint on the road is so that you idiots don't have to ride on the sidewalk and risk hitting people like me!
