I can't stay mad at them.

One thing that really gets under my skin is when I'm in the middle of an audit, and the client feels the need to point out that he's the one paying for the service we provide.

First of all, by telling me this, you're not exactly talking to the top end of the chain of command, here. It don't bother my ass one bit if you don't want to pay... hell, I'd prefer it if you refused to pay, cause then the count would be over and I could go home and play minecraft instead of having to deal with your browbeating ass.

Second, what's the point? Either I can do what you want, in which case I will, in which you've just wasted your breath, or I can't, in which case there's fuck all I can do, regardless of whatever intimidation tactics you might try.

Third, really? You're paying for it? Like, out your own pocket? Like, as in that giant multinational corporation that keeps your ass employed has no interest whatsoever in putting a few bucks aside in the budget so that your inventory can be audited once a year by an impartial third party? No? You're paying for it all by your lonesome? Wow, that's dedication.

Fourth, and this is a big one, I've been doing this shit for six years now. I've wasted away a significant chunk of my youth and sanity trying to find better ways to do this shitty job because, for some inexplicable reason, I actually want to be able to stand behind the quality of my work. I don't tell you how to run your business, don't tell me how to run my team.

Mother's and separation anxiety. I'm eighteen, I'm going to university, I'm planning on moving out with a friend in the next few months. Why does this have to be such a big deal? I'll be five or ten minutes away, tops. Financially it'll be tight but considering we'll both be working and living in a kind of crummy apartment, we'll do fine (I did the math). I mean, what do you expect? I'm not going to stay living in the same house until I'm done university, however many years that is. Moving out isn't going to ruin my life. I'll have to wait longer to get a car but I don't really care, I can take public transit around. I'm being told repeatedly that I'm going to end up being a father and a family man and apparently I'm supposed to be saving my money by living with the rest of the family until I graduate from post-secondary, when I'll then get married and move into a house. Being told my entire lifeplan when I'm not the person who made it is more than a little annoying. I honestly hope it's just nerves from the idea that your child is moving out, because otherwise I think we are going to have complicated issues in the future.

Heh, my mother and I have had issues with me moving out and living with my wife, despite the fact that we're next door to her. XD I don't talk to her as much as I did before, and it seems to bother her a lot. I figure that it's a natural progression - I'm married, so I would be spending far more time with my wife over my parents. You're not an only child, though, if I remember right - I am, so I think that's part of my issue.

I'm pissy at Nintendo of America, too. Not so much Nintendo in general. There's been too many gems not released here for no good reason to make me infuriated - Last Window, Xenoblade, Disaster, Fatal Frame 4, Zangeki, etc. I'm terrified that Last Story will suffer the same fate.

Thats it. Im again trying to cut my connections to Abandonia, only to hate myself knowing that I'l be back there in about a month or two.

I havent been active on the site lately, and I havent actually been a "useful" staff member in over a year. I only got access to the staff forums where I can post and read some minor stuff, and thats about it. Still, the site has been suffering from lot of problems in the recent years. You cant see 'em If you just visit the site for some games, but If you get bit deeper into the forums....

Now, I might be just on a rage-mode right now as I just got berated by an admin, but Im going with it anyway. I need to blow off some steam.

First, the forum works on volunteer work. Its a bit of a problem. We got 5 admins, enough moderators to check over the forums, but there's only two actual updating updaters. Two other updaters do work on updating and site-related stuff, but the rest are just...well, not really doing anything. Either they're gone or too busy to do any site related work. Hell, one even refuses. Sometimes someone comes in and decides to update, but its mostly our two main regulars who do the work.

Like I said, the key word is "volunteer". Someone argued that you cant force volunteers to do any work on the site. I say its like volunteering to work for Red Cross, but instead you sit at home all day and wear one of their red vests and pins.

Then there's the magazine project. Its been around for at least five years, since I first tried to start it. So far, only one e-zine has been created, and that was two years ago (I think). Some people insist working on it, yet I think its just a waste of time. It also lacks "volunteers".

For all I know, there's lots of behind the scenes work, as Im only allowed to go to the staff boards. Still, no one ever bothered to tell about stuff that happens there, even when asked! Long time ago AB had to remove Castle Wolfenstein since it got cease and desists order from a guy who claimed to own rights for the game. Ever since then I now and then asked "Whats the situation, did we get any proof about it", but without getting any answers. And just TWO DAYS AGO, I learned that "Yeah, we did ask Studentis to ask him long ago, but they havent replied about it.". Admin just casually mentioned it.

And the Studentis..., the owners of the site, the people who do actual work (meaning they get paid) for the site. I know nothing what goes on beyond the staff board, but from what I've learned there's serious lack of communication with them. Abandonia Reloaded had problems with years, and every single email the AR's ONLY admin sented were ignored. It also takes them long time to fix bugs, even now I mentioned some small bugs and was pretty much ignored, and that includes staff members too.

Studentis also brought along a big problem: Lack of any "boss". Kosta, who created and owned the site, ran away sometime after the site got re-designed by him and the Studentis. It took us at least a year to learn that he wasnt coming back, or that we're gonna be stuck with the Studentis no matter what. I cant remember how we heard about this, but I think it was Kosta's father who told us about it (a former forum regular, and another infamous person from the history of the site). So now, there's five admins and no one doing any big decisions, making things take time and people just lazing around.

Then there's this attitude. Everyone's bit of a kidder and there's pretty much no room for serious talking. You can pretty much call someone anything and later claim "i was only joking lol" or "you think i was serious?". Several persons there are pretty much allowed freely to act whatever the way they please, and even asking about banning or punishing them is wrong and horrible. One person has pretty much stopped making any sense (curiously, he acts alright outside of Abandonia. Maybe he's just fed up with the place as I am). They're long time members though, and they havent done anything terrible, but I think little behavior and common sense is recommended. Whenever I suggest that, I just get brushed off.

I would really like to post this there, but whats the use? I've been very negative person around there lately, complaining pretty much about every stupid thing they've made (or anything they've not made), so they'll probably just gang up on me and I'd lose the last credibility in there. I think I'l just leave quietly and dont risk burning any bridges.

Friday, Oct. 1: The store's air conditioner unit is stolen. As it turns out, the owner of the plaza left the back gate open the previous night. Since we have no security, thieves were able to enter and make off with three AC units. One of them being ours.

Saturday, Oct. 2: The building owner tells us our insurance will cover the AC. Turns out it doesn't, because it was located about a foot behind the building and not inside or on top of the building like any normal shopping center. Therefore, the insurance won't cover it.

Sunday, Oct. 3: I work from 12-6 in 86 degree heat in a very stale building.

Monday, Oct. 4: Our AC is supposed to be fixed today. It isn't. The building owner is once again refusing to replace it.

Tuesday, Oct. 5: I work from 10am - 8pm in the heat. It turns out to be fairly nice so it's not so bad, but still very stale.

Today: The owner says he will replace our AC unit -- but only if we renew a 3 year lease.

We're moving to a new building at the end of the month.

Besides being pissed, Iam frustrated Y_Y ... now let me explain why..
i was a FFXI`s player for 5 long years ( may 05- june10) and leaving the outdated graphics aside( thing that you could fix a lil using the famous "windower" ), the game was excellent,but since SE announced with fireworks and scandal thier next-gen-rpg-online..then a big number of ppl left xi, even to the point to merge servers cose you couldnt level up a job anymore without ppl looking for party,...and plus imho,the new abyssea expansion,and after 6 years,SE decides to raise the level cap from 75 to 99 in a progressive way (every 3 months),.. to give us something to do,.. was a very shitty and cheap way to keep us busy, doing the same thing,.. and re taking the old jobs,.. ( re-taking 12 jobs from 75 to 99? no thanks), so i assumed that Square Enix was boycotting it`s own game in a favor of the new one,.. (making ppl think in the possibility of migrate to the newcomer ffxiv) ... i wont repeat the same thing you`ve been reading in other forums,sites or even, amazon.com about ffxiv`s reviews and comments,.. I`ve been playing it since the closed beta/ open beta// always with the hope that everything that plagued the game could be fixed in the final version,.. lol but i think i was asking too much in Square enix`s case. they fixed nothing.. Q_Q *adopting fethal position and leaning back and forth like an autist*.. Now i understand when my linkshell`s leader in ffxi said " the last person to leave Jeuno please turn off the lights completely, cose we wont have the chance to come back if the new game isnt worthy to be a succesor" . i dont know too much about PC and emulator,.. but i feel like Square enix went the easy way and didnt optimized the game for the PC version,.. i feel like iam playing a pseudo ps3 emulator or something,. thats why the super requirements to play the game evne in minimum settings.. i think they wanted to cover their lazy way and poor port with power,demanding super-NASA-PCs

But i wont toss the towell yet, i wanna see if those ppl in square responsible for this mess, fix everything for the ps3 release in march , so ill keep playing until then ...
