천하무적 (天下無敵) Cheon Ha Mu Jeok (something like "Unrivaled under the Heaven")
Your average Street Fighter resembling Fighting game. I only could find one single attack button, which may or may not be the fault of my netbook. Strangely, down/back and down/forward are pressed for high and low blocks. Special attacks are next to impossible to find out without knowing them, as the execution is pretty fucked up. It has, however, a few quite interesting character designs (but also some boring ones). Take, for example, the North Korean general. At first glance, he looks just like another Bison clone, but then he has those tentacles attached to his arms. Don't know if the game as a boss, I probably will never make it that far to find out with that shitty controls. Also, the only fighting game I know with a stage in "Canada" (with a penguin, for chrissakes!). This is the only fighting game I've gotten, yet. The site of my dreams hosts four more. Cool intro, btw.
Mutant DNA *not played
This one is by the same people who made Chun Huh Moo Jock, so it probably isn't very good. However, the former game was actually their final project in a game school, so they might have gotten better since then. However, this is impossible to get as a foreigner (the only site that has it doesn't even accept an alien registration ID).
파이터 - 영웅을 기다리며 (The Hero)
Lamparita has uploaded this, but I think if I include it, I might have covered every single Korean fighting game I know so far... This is pretty bad, though not quite as shitty as Chun Huh Moo Jock. It is extremely buggy, though. I always end up using the same character, no matter which one I select, and the audio turns completely silent starting with the first attack.
대혈전 The Great
This is the first one that is actually enjoyable to some degree. It has a bit of an annoying copy protection code, took me quite a while to figure out how I was supposed to read it (it's a somewhat three-dimensional table, only in 2D *.*). It has a few interesting characters, although the graphical details are rather low.
극철호권 The Eye of Typhoon
This one has been released on PC and 3DO, but both versions are ridiculously rare. The game is actually pretty awesome. It plays just like a SNK fighter (4 buttons, double presses for more moves). There's 12 playable fighters and probably one or more bosses. I guess the scrolls at the bottom activate super moves, but I have no idea how to open them, and less of an idea how to execute the supers.
The game is made by Viccom, who previously developed Fight Fever on the NeoGeo. The Eye of Typhoon is said to have been intended for the NeoGeo as well, but for some reason it wasn't released on that platform.
One more licensed game, based on an animated series that looks a bit like a Dragon Ball clone. The humor's rather crude, the game starts up with a video where the titular hero is taking a shit... it has a windows version, which is programmed like shit (no music, I only can select 2 of the characters, key reconfiguration doesn't work), and a DOS version, which is unfortunately very slow with DOSbox on my computer. It's the only 2D fighter who uses "hi-res" (640x400) graphics. The sprites are nice, the animations not quite so. It has a few quite crazy characters, whose movesets are a bit lacking, but it plays rather well.
Real Fighter *not played
Supposedly the Country's first 3D fighter. Looks terribly awful. I could actually buy this one, but I really don't think it would be worth the five bucks.
Heart Breakers *not played
I start to believe that this might be about as rare as the European Kizuna Encounter. There have been two people on the net bragging about with pictures of the disc and screenshots, but every Korean abandonware site is searching in vain for it. On one forum someone had claimed to own it at his parent's home, but didn't reply anymore afterwards (it was a reasonably old thread). Some people report it has been advertised in a magazine, but there were hardly any stores that carried it. It is supposed to be an arcade port, but I've never seen even the tiniest bit of information on the arcade game, and I think that version might have been lost at all.
This was a pure online game, but has been discontinued quite some time ago. Players could create their characters out of 6 fighting styles.
Can anyone tell me where I can download Eotcheonji... from? I've been searching for quite some time, got duped into joining a scam site. Can someone help a tired, angry korean out?
Btw, does anyone know just how bad fastdownloadarchive is? I checked my bank account and they've charged me a dollar (so yeah, they got my credit card info). I sent them a cancellation email along with a FUCK YOU!!! Hope that's the end of it...anyone know?
Damn, I know I can't blame nobody but myself for this one, but...SHIBAL!! JU-GUH GEH-SEKI DERA! (dammit, die sons of bitches).
