It's an interesting game, but not the work of genius this article makes it out to be. The first problem is that one can't save and keep playing back melodies to keep adding to a track, which would make it interesting from a creation point of view. As it is, you're really just making very limited noise over a simple beat, which is gone after you stop playing. The other and more important one for a game I think, is that the musical expression part and the shooter gameplay aren't connected in any meaningful way beyond changing the instrument.
