I was always under the impression that Gargoyle's Quest 1 was only on GameBoy and Gargoyle's Quest 2 was only on NES/Famicom, but apparently, there's a game for GameBoy called "Makai Mura Gaiden: The Demon Darkness", which is the subtitle of Gargoyle's Quest 2. I've seen box art for it, and it's different from the box art for Red Arremer (Gargoyle's Quest), but there's no rom or any evidence of its existence anywhere. Does anyone have the rom of this game?

Yes Gargoyle's Quest 2 came out for the GB after the NES one for some reason or another. I remember Nintendo Power announcing it back then, but it never got released in the USA of course.
The reason why you aren't finding it is because of the sometimes incomplete way some of the Japanese roms get named in the GoodTools collection.
red arremer - makaimura gaiden (j).zip (86KB) <---- Gargoyle's Quest 1 makaimura gaiden (j).zip (159KB) <---- Gargoyle's Quest 2
Complete names should be: -Red Aremer: Makaimura Gaiden -Makaimura Gaiden: The Demon Darkness

Thanks for clearing this up, everyone. Not even GameFAQs or Wikipedia have any data on Gargoyle's Quest II being released on GB.

"Makai Mura Gaiden: The Demon Darkness"
Proof that GQ is part of the series and Maximo is not. I am still totally cool with including those, so no problem.
PM me the text for this thing when it is finished. Send the screenshots directly to Discoalucard.

I remember back in the days when the N64 came out... Capcom announced a Ghosts n Goblins 64 for the N64, they even showed a few beta screenshots of zombies rising from the ground. After a few years they silently canceled the game. Anyone remember seeing the pics? I think there was even a short video of it on n64hq (now ign.com) Oh here's the info page: ign64.ign.com/articles/067/067005p1.htmlNo screenshots though. The article says there weren't any screenshots of it but if capcom showed it and an editor saw it, then footage of it did exist. I specifically remember a short video with blocky Zombies rising from the ground. It was during that time that I started using the internet in 97-98. Maybe it was on one of those URLs Next Generation and EGM posted on their magazines. Or maybe it was in one of those promo CDs that Next Generation sent with every issue. But I do remember seeing it, and it wasn't a Castlevania 64 video either. As for Maximo, if Capcom says they are part of the series then they are part of the series. The USA version is called Maximo: Ghosts to Glory. If that's not a homage to the Ghosts n Goblins name then I don't know what is
