Looks like the article is missing the first Ninja-Kun game: refugee2005.sakura.ne.jp/library/1983/1983_7.htm#ninjaThe title screen lists one M.Tsunekawa as the programmer, but I couldn't find any credits for the later games, so I don't know if the games are legitimately related (publisher is Micro Cabin, who AFAIK didn't have anything to do with the later games). The title font on the cover makes it clear that the identical title is no coincidence, though. There are PC-88 and FM-7 versions of Majou no Bouken, too.

Ah! Japanese Wikipedia doesn't even mention it. It's definitely the same sort of thing, though from the screens it looks like an entirely different game. I'm grabbing the MSX one now.

Hey, it's Robot Ninja Haggleman!
Okay, maybe not, but that was perhaps my favorite game out of Retro Game Challenge's set. I'll need to try this out sometime. How similar is the gameplay? Judging by the screenshots, there aren't any doors...

Judging by the screenshots, there aren't any doors... That's what inspired me to write this article several years back, actually! As for gameplay, there is very little similarity, honestly. I'd venture to say the two Haggleman games are better than Jajamaru-kun.

Random remarks: - The MSX version of Ninja-kun: Ashura no Shō is for the MSX2 specifically. It's only made clear in the article via the cover art. - Hanna's name from Taro's Quest is spelled as Hannah in the article. - And last, but not least, here's something that I noticed about the Maru's Mission logo: imgur.com/a/YqFdP

I’m fairly certain that the correct reading for the name of the cancelled DS game is ”Pen wa Ken yori Tsuyoshi de Gozaru”.

Why does it say "[Inspiration?] " right next to the first game's title? It seems oddly placed.
The article doesn't mention that the Arcade Ninja Kun 2 was released outside Japan as "Rad Action".

It should be noted that Ninja-kun Ma-jō no Bōken is one of the the first games to let the player do a double jump, possibly the very first (if it was released before Dragon Buster).
As anyone who has played the game will know, you have to hold the button down to be able to reach the next higher platform, effectively creating a double jump. Quickly releasing the jump button and then pressing it again before Ninja-kun reaches a certain height will also produce this double jump.
