One other thing that just occurred to me about the color change for the Hulk Hogan guy in the Megadrive game...he's HULK Hogan, right? And The Incredible Hulk (Where Hogan got the 1st part of his name) is generally green (Yeah yeah, he can be different colors, but outside hardcore Hulk fandom, Incredible=green). I'd say that's a very real possibility. That could have been an odd way to allude to his resemblence to Hogan.

Haha, maybe Buronson had just finished watching Rocky III when he wrote that.

Haha, maybe Buronson had just finished watching Rocky III when he wrote that. Wouldn't surprise me, considering Falco, one of the antagonists in the arc, is a near carbon copy of Ivan Drago. Hell, at one point Kenshiro even wears the same sunglasses Sylvester Stallone wears in Cobra. Alf, one of the first opponents he faces in the land of Shura, is practically Apollo Creed.

Reflective eyewear = top tier. Hokuto no Ken rocks not just for having great characters but for its awesome and vast number of references and homages to badass things from the eighties.

Hokuto No Ken is actually way more glam than what we have now in mainstream manga/anime. Especially if you are talking about Glam Rock, of course beaten by Jojos Bizarre Adventure(the cousin of HNK) There is a bad guy who wears lipstick and many other intentionally homoerotic characters, but the difference was that it was always quite macho at the same time.
I also am dying for the manga to be fully translated, I have recently found out about a box set of the anime that has all 152 episodes subtitled

I had the box set of the TV show. The subtitles were terrible, some of the worst I've seen. I was able to understand it only because I've read all the comics and can understand Japanese.
I also didn't care much for the TV show anyway. The comics are a lot better with much nicer artwork. There is way too much filler in the TV show. And of course the legendary gore is toned down.
