indeed, it sounds like a slightly detuned version of the Wily Stage Dunno if this has already been posted, but still... I love this track as much as I love the game. The over compressed awesomeness in this song drips from every chord and orchestral hit ;D Edit: Because i could find it nowhere on the whole damn internet, I ripped the best track from ZOE - The Fist of Mars. Sorry, if it is a bit loud, but i recorded it straight from the DS with my laptop

Another song that takes advantage of what the Genesis' sound hardware does, and just wouldn't have sounded right on the SNES' SPC.

I can't believe it that I didn't posted this track earlier:
This kickass track was the best reward for upgrading Drill Dozer to 3rd gear. And along with the fact that Drill Dozer was overpowered with 3rd gear I had the feeling "Get over my way, losers! Here comes the killer machine!" and I was screaming "Hiya! HIYA! HIYAAAAAAAA!" along with Jill. By the way...am I the only one who thinks that small Gunmen design from Gurren Lagann resembles Drill Dozer a lot?

The most important music in any shoot-em-up is the Stage 1 theme.
And that's why this one is as awesome as it is.

The X68000 is one amazing machine, especially in the hands of someone like Yuzo Koshiro...

Both are from Amiga games. First is from Hostages, it's almost ebm like between front line assembly and haujobb:
And then, basically all the tunes from Ocean Beach Volley. Hot stuff:

I watched The Neverending Story last night (One of my favourite childhood films) and I noticed this song. Is it me or does this sound an awful lot like some airship music from a 16-bit Final Fantasy or something? I really like it too.

I'll leave these tracks from Gate/Lords of Thunder, as far as old cd shmups go, I haven't found anything better.

Michiru Yamane is my God.
Touhou's Level 1 bosses are mostly little kids trying to act tough, and I think this song is the epitome of brash child archetype.
I hesitated for a while trying to decide if I should put this in the Cheesy Music thread, but it's just too badass. Not even the cheesiness of Microsoft's cheezification of Roland's SoundCanvas could hold back its raw primal energy.
