Wasn't there a really lame attempt at adding a hispanic member to the Teen Titans? Like around the time of Infinite Crisis? He had a really bad name, too, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was.

So, having not read Y: The Last Man yet, I've come to the conclusion that Vaughn is a pretty awesome writer because I checked out Pride of Baghdad from my library. Holy fuck, it's good. It's like, Homeward Bound, but with lions, and....soul crushing. It's got beautiful artwork, too.
Has anyone else read it?

If you liked it, you really should check out Y: The Last Man. Aside from some stupid stuff that happens toward the end, it's consistently good. Vaughn is a great writer, and IMO he's one of the things that put LOST back on track.

Think you MIGHT like WE3 by Grant Morrison then. It's Homeward Bound....with, uh, cybernetic enhancements. And is known for inducing baw-like statuses into readers....
gud dog
;_;
Oh, and I don't give a crap if you do or do not like Transformers: anything written by Nick Roche is the greatest goddamn thing ever. Who ever thought giant robot action could be so gruesome and fucked up.

I need to get WE3, just got Batman's Digital Justice, and it's freaky weird. Drawn using like late-era Nintendo graphics I guess because it reminds me of Vectorman. Definitely, a precursor to alot of the ideas that were used in Batman Beyond. Very little actual Bat action though. Also, picked up Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? It was really depressing, and beautiful at the same time. Watching the worlds strongest man, not being able to do anything to help those he loves was just heartbreaking. And Krypto just darn near broke my heart. Can't wait to pick up Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? Has anybody picked up this new comic, Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark. Looks like SyFy quality unintentional awesomeness, though this time obviously done for awesomeness. Link Below - theygotmixedup.blogspot.com/

Link Below - theygotmixedup.blogspot.com/Batman: Digital Justice and Shatter were done by the same folks.. they made a HUGE deal about it back in the day, partially because it was before you even had stuff like MS Paint. Interesting though. Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? Is one of my absolute favorites, but then again I'm partial to pre-Crisis Superman. The Gaiman story in Batman isn't as good (to me, anyway...mostly because it wasn't what I expected), but is very weird and cool...it's actually a very different type of story and is more of a metafiction commentary. Definitely check it out regardless. Sea Bear and Grizzly Shark is pretty fun. Grizzly Shark is more like a SyFy movie (personally I thought it was too chatty, although it seems to be the "critical" favorite...shades of Death Proof), while Sea Bear is more like one of those bizarre "arms race escalation" situations you'd get when you have two kids playing with GI Joes or whatever. My favorite Kirkman book in recent memory, though, is Destroyer...it's absolutely awesome.

He had a really bad name, too, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was. I dunno about that, but I know that there's a hispanic Aquagirl that spouts off broken Spanish "Dora the Explorer"-style. Wow, I wonder if they realized people would nickname her "wetback." See, this is exactly the kind of editorial insensitivity I was bitching about earlier ;p (just kidding just kidding). No, the editorial insensitivity is having a DC representative respond to the allegations of racism like this: "It's so hard for me to be on the other side because it's not our intention. There is a reason behind it all. We don't see it that way and strive very hard to have a diverse DCU. I mean, we have green, pink, and blue characters. We have the Great Ten out there and I have counter statistics, but I won't get into that. It's not how we perceived it. We get the same thing about how we treat our female characters." Oh, and The Great Ten are one of the most racist depictions of Asians since Mickey Rooney was in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". And don't get me started on how women characters are treated (such as one that was murdered, then had her remains molested by a zombie rapist in a recent JLA issue). ...sorry, went apeshit there. I think I got posessed by the ghost of Dwayne McDuffie. Honestly I'm exaggerating A LOT and it's not that bad, but it's just funny to me how this stuff has been handled in the past. On the bright side, DC's had a lot of good reading lately (I'm enjoying Paul Levitz's return to Legion of Superheroes, and the new Flash book makes up for the confusing Flash:Rebirth). Then again, hop on the other side of the fence and we're constantly reminded of Joe Quesada's ego whenever you pick up a Spider Man comic...man, although they've had some good stories recently (The Gauntlet), Peter Parker's kind of a douche. Ugh, and all of the events up to recently were handled a hell of a lot worse than DC handled their crossovers/events.

I know it's just 3 issues long and maybe it'll end getting setup into more mega-arc crossover chicanery once it's over, but the first chapter of X-Force's Sex & Violence feels like a real breath of fresh air.

io9.com/5587996/ryan-reynolds-green-lantern-costume-revealedIt looks kind of lame; can't say the color scheme from the original would look better in real life, but the "one color" look of the costume is ass. It looks like he stole Dracula's armor from the Coppola movie and spraypainted it green. Mainly though, the mask is so retarded looking it's like a black hole of assclown-ness. In other comics/fandom-related news, voice acting and localization pioneer Peter Fernandez died (although most people just know him as "the voice of Speed Racer."). I find this to be pretty sad, because I liked a lot of the shows he worked on dubbing/translating/etc., including Speed Racer and Ultraman.

Since the mask looks like make up on his face, I think this it's thrown up as he didn't have one up at the moment. Though, it's weird considering his whole costume is supposed to be cgi, so it's like if you managed to cgi-up the costume why wouldn't you have cgi-uped the mask. Either way, I dig the costume, and the light clothing his organic muscle. It seems more, I don't know real than being able to create real cloth to clothes himself. Is it me though, or does he resemble Kyle more than Hal?

I thought he was Jewish.
The costume isn't TOO bad, just kind of odd to me. If anything, the mask is the only thing that bothers me...it looks like one of those fucked up early Hal Jordan drawings by Gil Kane and such where his eyes are all screwed up, and the mask looks like a bird's beak.
