Thanks for enjoying it, guys.
I sent Kurt an email with some updates and fixes so once that goes up it'll be complete.

I never heard of that one, great find! Interesting that there were 2 clones of this game.

I think you forgot to upload the other updated pages in that zip cause the first page is missing the link to the extra page and such. The new page is an interview with one of the actors from the arcade fighting game. hardcoregaming101.net/jackiechan/jackie8.htm

Nice interview, but it has a link to page 8 of Ninja Gaiden article at the end. (: By the way, these not parts of the update? Some remarks about the article: - The confusing cover art for Protector (MSX) is from the European version of the game. The article doesn't make this clear. It's likely that the Japanese version uses different cover art. - In page 4 "Columns" is misspelled as "Coloums". I also don't see the second reskinned version of The Protector being mentioned.

Another typo you might want to correct: It says Canon Ball instead of Cannon Ball in the title and below the screenshot. And I really think that Kung Fu should have at least a tiny bit of info on the gameplay, like the other games in the article already have. No need for an indepth analysis, but as of now there's only background info on the game.

I'm actually in the process of doing a while article on Kung Fu Master, so that'll be taken care of then.

Interesting article. I never thought there were so many games based on Jackie Chan. To be honest though I always avoided those games. I never identified with the actor. Whenever I saw a game with his name on a title I assumed it was crap (and I bet it must be true in some cases). Now that Kung Fu was based on Jackie Chan was a surprise for me (if it is true that is). I find it hard to believe such detail has gone missing from such a well remembered title.
Good job

I think you forgot to upload the other updated pages in that zip cause the first page is missing the link to the extra page and such. Added the missing links now. If there have been any more changes please PM me about them. I've equipped the article with anchors for the individual games, so it'd probably be less work to copy in the changes by hand than to write in the anchors again.

I could finally add a new entry to this article, one I was clued in on before I even wrote it but had no real info on. However through probably the weirdest, most convoluted networking that I have ever taken part in, after exactly a year I was put in touch with someone who was relevant to this. In 1994, Jackie Chan became the spokesperson for a home computer system by Subor. While that in itself doesn't sound so interesting, what is particularly interesting is that the system he promoted is a Famiclone system: Now more so than just writing about it, I really wanted to get some kind of real insight on the whole deal before adding it and further establishing myself as someone who knows too much for my own good on this subject. That's why I had some help to get in touch with someone who worked at Subor to comment on it. Now getting a Chinese pirate developer to talk (through translated emails by my Taiwan based friend) is not easy and paranoia was evident in every word spoken, but humorously he did lighten up when he realized I was a fan of Jackie and not some sort of spy. Now the dude was super duper hyper paranoid about me posting real names or contact info since I guess he still works producing knock off electronics or something (I guess for another company), but the emails I got weren't terribly interesting beyond what I put in the article, mostly just chatter on how I found out about the whole thing and so on. In order to get the answer I wanted I didn't press any issue on piracy and stuff, handling him with proper respect. I did send a final email asking if there was any reaction from Japan due to Jackie fame there (a badly masked question just to see) but never got any reply on that. Anyways, long story, probably boring for anyone but me, but please enjoy the slightly sidetracking addition that is SB-926 www.hardcoregaming101.net/jackiechan/jackie3.htmI also managed to track down the TV commercial in question and clean it up.

Heh, that's some awesome piece of random trivia. Is there any chance to upload a non-watermarked version? The HG101 logo at the end of the video should be enough to identify the upload with the site.

The watermark is there cause there's a lot of random Chinese advertisement text that changes underneath which I found a bit distracting, but if you want I can upload it of course.

Is that something that was displayed in the original ad, or some stuff added by chinese websites? If it's the latter, then don't bother.

.com ads. If it was part of the original broadcast I would have left it intact.
It's just various URL and sales pitches for them, rather annoying ones.
