Man, so Kurt was out at some store or another this weekend and managed to find a copy of TMNT: Turtles in Time for me. I had been looking for this game for about 3 months and was a bit speechless when he gave it to me.
This game brings back many memories for me, from my High School days. Between Final Fantasy II & III, Secret of Mana, Actraiser I & II, TMNT: Turtles in Time, and Skyblazer, I spent many a weekend in front of the TV having an adventure.
As I didn't own a Genesis until 1998, I will keep this to SNES love. What are your favorite SNES games?

Ahh, yes. The SNES. My very first console (I know, I know, I'm pathetic)
Anyway, I'm still biased about it seeing as I have many memories of it. Definately have way too many games to count in terms of favorites, so I'll list my absolutes:
Super Punch-Out!!, Skyblazer, Super Mario RPG, Jurassic Park, Actraiser 1 (so disappointed with Actraiser 2), Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Kirby's Super Star, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Also, for Super Famicom, it's The Violinist of Hameln, Umihara Kawase, Gundam Wing Endless Duel, and Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius

Actraiser Arcana Contra III: The Alien Wars Mega Man X Secret of Mana Shadowrun Soul Blazer Super Castlevania IV Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts Super Turrican Uncharted Waters
I have to get Margo on this board, she was importing SNES stuff when it was new so she'd probably have some cool games to mention.

Demon's Crest! It was great to be able to finally kick ass with a Red Arremer instead of the other way around. Plus, the crest system and multiple endings were awesome. It's a shame that Capcom never made a sequel to it.
...Come to think of it, an article about the Ghouls 'n Ghost series would be neat. Somebody could even cover the Red Arremer games.

I forget the site but someone already did a really good writeup on it.
Demon's Crest is fantastic, a real crowd pleaser. I show it to a lot of people today and they can't believe it's on an SNES and I can't blame them. It looks better than Symphony of the Night in some parts. I always wished a bigger sequel got made (if not another one more in synch with the Gargoyle's Quest games).

Genesis does what Nintendon't!!!
Also, I asked Rob Strangman of the OPCFG, Ghoul's Realm, many other awesome sites, if he'd like to contribute a Ghosts n Goblins article. I am not a huge fan of the series (there's such a thing as retardedly difficulty) so I can't really write much about it, but I love the Gargoyle/Demon series, and the seconed Maximo was pretty decent too.

Yeah. The Ghouls 'n Ghosts games are way too difficult. Especially when it forces you to play through the entire game twice in one sitting.
...Still didn't stop me from beating every single one of them, though.

I've never actually owned a SNES for some reason, though came close when I saw a copy of the japanese Dragonball Z Super Butoden 3 in a local op shop.
I didn't buy it at first and when I returned later that afternoon (having changed my mind) I discovered that someone else had purchased it...just 15 minutes before I was in there!
As such, I decided not to by a second SNES that day either.

Can't let a SNES appreciation thread go by without contributing What can I say? The NES was my first console and I my mum thought I was an addict back then... All I really need to say is: Street Fighter 2 (horrible conversion by todays standards- but at the time it was responsible for so, so much lost study and little mini tournaments held in my house) Mario Kart (despite how many people acuse me of rose tinted glasses- the original is still the best) Super Probotector/Contra Super Ghouls n' Ghosts (surely finishing this inspires nothing but pride in your heart?) Secret of Mana (I can't count how many times I finished this) Legend of Zelda: A link to the past (my favourite Zelda by far) Shadowrun Axelay (ok, its not too amazing, but I still look back at it and remember the music and the then amazing graphics) Earthbound Terranigma Final Fantasy 3/6 (okay, I know people love this one, but seriously this game stopped me interacting with people my age for a solid 2 years) Actraiser (agree with the person who said the sequel was a horrible dissapointment- the original ((despite clunky gameplay mechanics)) had great music and the little strategy segments really helped to break things up). Hagane (surely someone else likes this? Its a great Strider style rip off, and the special moves and creepy setting are fairly funky too. The ending was a bit of a surprise in a way too) I could go on and on but I think that would result in a permanent ban from this board Can I point out that at the time Super Play made for the greatest resource for what to play and import etc?

Wayyyy too many games to mention. I seriously could talk for hours and hours about the SNES, and I probably would if I didn't have to go to class right now. Anyway, I think Earthbound, the original Mega Man X and Legend of the Mystical Ninja would occupy my top spot.
And yes, Hagane rules and so does Run Saber, despite it's mysterious lack of sound effects.

Genesis does what Nintendon't!!! Ey, shut up-a your face! The Super Nintendo is what the Genesisnt, biotch!!! ;D I am, of course, just foolin'. They're both supernaturally kickass systems, but the SNES is the one that I grew up with. Some of my absolute favorites include, but are not limited to: Gradius III Super Castlevania IV Contra III Actraiser Axelay R-Type III Super Metroid Kirby Super Star Kirby's Dreamland 3 Super Bomberman Super Bomberman 2 Megaman X The Super Star Wars Trilogy Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures U.N. Squadron Legend of the Mystical Ninja Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Earthbound Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI (FF was in its golden age on the SNES... although, technically, I've only played them on the PS1) Super Punch-Out!! Starfox And probably some more that I can't currently recall. SMRPG, Earthbound, and FF6 are my three favorite RPGs of all time... and I don't even like RPGs that much! Truly, the Super Nintendo's prominence cannot be denied in the gaming universe.
