Do you guys think HG should have a subscribe service? With things like interviews with people who made some of the games and even roms of them?

Illegal. HG101 would be shut down in an instant if they charged for that stuff.

They technically owuldn't have to "Charge" for it iff they offered it as a donation. Like donate 2$ and you get extra coverage and stuff

It's still a bad idea. You can find ROMS anywhere if you look hard enough and why would you want to pay extra for anything?

Since I'm too lazy to make a coherent thread about it, this place needs some FUCKING YOUTUBE due to WONDERFUL EMULATORS like ZSNES AND VBA that totally allow you to RECORD WHAT YOU ARE PLAYING

I can make AVIs of stuff and put them on Fileplanet. (Would be better if I can get a good recorder for my capture card.) I'm never uploaded anything to YouTube but I'm assuming it needs to be compressed to a certain level. I'd much rather just use XVid to get a good picture at a decent size (like the Neverhood videos.)
Also,, subscription service = no way. It's against Gamespy's rules. I'd briefly considered the idea of a magazine of some kind, but I lack design skills (obviously) and am not sure if it's financially feasible.

Youtube uses a special thingy (like Google video) to turn video files into flash apps, and it tends to cut down the size quite drastically while still retaining decent quality. So using Xvid it pretty much is a match made in Heaven. As an example, here's the Castlevania-takeoff level from Pyuu to Fuku: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQDyKdZZg40&search=fkw

You're right, does look pretty good. Can you download stuff off there though? And in any case, it's not like I couldn't do both...
What the heck is Pyuu to Fuku though? Looks like a Dungeon update is in order...

Hm. I suppose video footage would go well with that proposed endings article.

Looks like a Dungeon update is in order... There's no conventional way to download the videos, but there seem to be plenty of applications/plugins that allow you to do so. Pyuu to Fuku! Jogger Byuu to Deru! Megane-Kun! It's an......odd game. I mean, there's not much to it. I wrote about it in a Fucking Konami Week 06 topic: forums.insertcredit.com/viewtopic.php?t=2486As I said, it's not anything special in the sense that you'll actually feel anything about it except possibly cheated by it's shortness. It's just a....brief gasp of a game.

Kurt there may be a way to actually make this happen. In terms of an honest to god, no rules, website. Though I do not like the idea of a subscription service either.
What I do think would be cool, is an online mag where we could enlist a few select authors and give them access to the website so they could update their articles online, and live.
I have been testing a CMS solution on RandomNJ to see how easy this is to do. I am getting some promising results. You could also set up an editorials site where people could submit stuff, and pending approval, and that it would adhere to certain rules, could be posted live.
Web maintenance would just simply take as much time as it would take you to upload the images and type.
