That's definitely from the SNES version. I recognize the graphics (and I've played/finished every possible versions of Ys III). Adol sprite just looks like that, because of the effect which happens when he gets damaged.

So what? That doesn't change anything I just said. You and Kurt probably just used different SNES emulators (or same, but both had different versions of it) to take the screenshots. That's why the colors are a bit different.

OH I know what happened. I must've taken this picture during the split second when Adol flickers after getting hit. Which accounts for the color change.
I think I'll replace that pic.

Back onto the subject of which games you should start with: I whole heartedly would say a translated version of Ys Complete is the best starting point- for the purposes of the plot, the music (if you have got the patched music) and for the fact it is the most user friendly introduction to the series. I first played Ys III on the SNES and it wasn't until Kurts article on the series that I decided to look into the other games. Now I have went back and mended my ill feeling towards Ys III, but dang, if someone could translate Oath of Felghana so anyone wanting to play part 3 could experience it as it should be

I'd excuse it, Japanese PC games are hard to come by and freaking expensive.
Anyway, Mazin, just UNRAR all of the files and run the install, that should work.

BIN/CUE means you either need to burn a CD using Nero, or mount it on a virtual drive with Alcohol 120% or something like that.

Oh and if you are using one of the torrented ones I think you need to patch the second game first and then the first game- this isn't from experience or anything I couldn't risk spending £70+ on a game I wasn't 100% on (well, not again anyways!) but afterwards I thought it was worth it...and maybe I had money to burn too!
