I've been writing a quick article about Cannon Spike/Gun Spike (Arcade/Dreamcast) for the site, and I've come to bit of a problem. I'm a huge Capcom fan, so I've spotted most of the fan service. However, I have no idea about anything from the company Psikyo. Can any one confirm any direct cameo of any Psikyo property in the game? (and of course if I'm missing any Capcom appearances/references) This is what a I have so far (concerning Capcom anyway):
Charlie/Nash and Cammy from Street Fighter series Megaman from the Megaman series B.B. Hood/Bulleta from the Darkstalkers series Arthur from the Ghouls 'N Ghost series
Unholy Dwelling level is based off of Resident Evil series Balrog may be based off of Balrog/Vega's character from Street Fighter
(Note: I do believe that the characters Shiba Shintaro and Simone were specifically made by Psikyo just for this game, however I might be wrong. Wikipedia has Shiba Shintaro as staring in Three Wonders, which I've never played before.)

hmmm According to the Capcom Classics Remixed site, the second character (one on the left) is named Siva, which could very well be a different romanization of Shiba (they're spelled the same way in Japanese.) He's got the same hair style and bandana but still looks a lot different. Although the manual for Cannon Spike also spells his name Shibu in the contents...then again these are the same brilliant people who used a Mega Man Legends picture when you play as classic Mega Man in the game. I know it's nerdy to rag on them for that. But still! So there you go. I...never knew this either. Hell I don't think I ever played Three Wonders before five minutes ago. I mean, I think I did. Except it was day out and not dark? Were these guys in any other games (other than the Marvel vs Capcom cameo)?

The girl with the armor chest looks like Maki from Final Fight 2 (or is it 3?) I don't belive I've seen any of those characters in the 3 links. If you want a list of Capcom and Psikyo arcade games just look it up on MAME, after you get the names you can visit www.vgmuseum.com and www.vazcomics.org/mamend/ to look at lots of images and the endings, that would probably help you spotting some characters in the games. Also, I have a Megaman and Ghouls n Ghosts ending FAQ on gamefaqs and I've been looking forever for a Cannon Spike ending description when you beat it with Megaman and with Arthur. Could you post here or PM with a description from both of their endings? Be as complete and descriptive as you can. Thanks in advance.

Mega Man: After the base is destroyed, Megaman calls for Rush and flies away from the scene. Arthur: After the base is destroyed, Arthur flies away but his suit is too damaged, so he ejects himelf out of the armor (which shows an bare Arthur with his heart boxers) The endings are really short and involve all of the characters just leaving the base. Has really nice character art, which is one of the reasons I like the game. I shall hopefully post up the conversations as soon as I can for the endings, reyvgm. Also, if you didn't know, there are team endings when you play with another character. I however never played this game with another person to see any team endings yet

It's not a stretch AT ALL. It even says in the manual that all the playable characters are from previous Capcom games. Siva/Shiba is from Midnight Wanderers: Quest for the Chariot and Chariot: Adventure through the Sky (both only available within the Three Wonders game, recently ported to the PSP Capcom Classics Collection) The option that follows him around is one of the djinn from Midnight Wanderers. Man Kurt I can't believe you never played Three Wonders, that thing was all over arcades in this region, it's totally rad. If one of your friends has a PSP grab the Classics Collection (though Three Wonders also works on MAME). Revenger Balrog is definitely based on the Vega/Balrog from Street Fighter fame. Lou and Siva/Shiba also appeared as characters in all the SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash games. They're also the main characters of Chariot (also on Three Wonders) which is a direct sequel to Midnight Wanderers. Love the story, you recover the sacred Chariot at the end of the first game. The second game has you "spreading the light of the chariot" via destroying everything that movies in a shmup. By daytime, I think you're thinking of the second and third levels of the game. Simone is absolutely Lynn Kurosawa. The three bosses you've posted shots though I'm almost positive are new to the game though and not from a previous Psikyo title.

A little late, just I'm really passionate about Three Wonders since it was one of the arcade games I pumped many, many quarters into when I was younger, I can't help but write about it even if I didn't have that much new information to contribute. Great soundtrack in both Midnight Wanderers and Chariot as well. Some of the dorkiest cutscene font/graphics in the history of mankind though. It's so.....CPS1. Also for those wondering, the third Wonder is a cutesy puzzle game called Don't Pull that is completely unrelated to Lou and Siva's adventures. You basically push blocks around to form lines of similar colored blocks while avoiding enemies and/or crushing them with the blocks you push. Fun stuff since it has coop like the other two games on Three Wonders.

Yeah same thing with Forgotten Worlds. Interesting how the earliest CPS1 stuff looks so much better than several of the later offerings.
I don't plan on owning a PSP for several years, but I consider getting the new Capcom Classics Collection simply because it's the first time Three Wonders has ever been ported to a console here, same for Black Tiger/Dragon.
At the same time though, I really wish there'd be a second Capcom Classics Collection on the XBox/PS2, I mean they even put Volume 1 in the title of the first one.

Hm. I've never had the pleasure of playing Three Wonders. I'll have to look into it.
