Now that E3 has past and all the main official announcements have been made, it's time to talk about what everyone thinks about the up coming console war that is about to approach us.
Sony PS3 - following the coverage of the PS3, I found that I was not interested in anything Sony had to offer. Which is really sad considering that I happen to enjoy my PS2 and all the games I own for it. The only game that even sparked interest was MGS4. I feel as though the Dualshock 3 is a blatant ripoff of Nintendo Wii's remote although I'm happy they changed the design from that awful boomerang form last year (no more jokes about getting angry at the game and throwing the controller only for it to return back to you). Also, that $600 price doesn't help, seeing how I'm awful cheap and don't have that big of a bank account that would permit me to purchase one (or at least right at launch). I feel Sony should have justified that obnoxious price by showing off the games we'd be playing, and they didn't quite deliever at least in my eyes anyway. And curse you Sony for yet again ignoring Skyblazer (with either a PSP update or maybe a nice little Virtual Console game for the Wii? )
Xbox 360: Way better showing at E3 then Sony. Of course I'm going to root for any console that is hosting DDR (DDR Universe), but I will not purchase it yet. Xbox Live Arcade is certainly a great idea and I've played alot of games when I was still in the dorms (my one friend on the same floor had it and we played the hell out of Smash TV and Geometry Wars 2). I have never enjoyed Halo, so that title doesn't interest me at all. The game at the show I'm most excited about would be the two Capcom games: Dead Rising and Lost Planet. Definitely going to pick those up when I purchase an Xbox 360 in the far future. Ninety-Nine Nights also looks pretty cool.
Nintendo Wii: Wow. I applaud Nintendo in disproving a lot of nay-sayers about the consoles ability and it's still ridiculous name. The number one console for me. It's interesting however that I'm not too excited about Super Mario Galaxy or Metriod Prime 3: Corruption. I'm Zelda's bitch, so I'm most certain that I'm going to pick that up, as with Metal Slug Anthology. It's also the console where I'm interested in more games than any other console: I want to find out more about Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Super Smash Bros. Brawl (oh goodness Hell yes!!), Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Excite Truck, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Sadness, and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. Also, Virtual Console will be so fucking awesome if Nintendo does it right (which looks that way anyway). Nintendo would be incredibly awesome yet again if they let games that weren't available in territories before *cough* Sin & Punishment *cough* Alien Solider *cough*.
What does everyone else think? What shall be your console of choice?
