Oh, what about Burning Fight and Sengoku 3? If you like Final Fight-style beat-em-ups, these are great.

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer is horrifically overrated (probably because it is so rare?) and not even really worth the download Ragnagard is fairly horrific, same goes for Mutation Nation and Ninja Combat. No to watch my karma drop as I have undoubtably offended a few Neo-Geo fanboys

Ninja Combat is pretty cool but has aged terribly. Mutation Nation is fun but is nothing compared to Robo Army and Burning Fight. Better graphics and sound quality the lack of moves kill it. bison I'm a huge SNK fan (they're my favorite developer ever actually) and even I think Gowcaizer and Rgangard are awful. Saurus more than redeemed themselves with the near flawless Shock Troopers though.

See shock troopers I loved I would say the main problem with a lot of the earlier Neo-geo stuff is the same problem with most games of that era- they haven't aged well because they were all trying to ape Street Fighter or Final Fight with (usually) mediocre results at best.

"they were all trying to ape Street Fighter or Final Fight with (usually) mediocre results at best. "
But that's not perfectly true. Most of the earlier Final Fight-type games for the Neo were actually evolving the formula from SNK's own Datsugoku ~Prisoners of War~, an arcade game previous to Final Fight. And with "formula" I don't just mean the 3D action, side-scrolling fighting concept, but the way it is developed, the game's pace, the use of a kick button, the player's action and the number of enemies he can hit at once...
The best way to dislike games as Robo Army, Mutation Nation or Burning Fight is indeed playing them like if they were Final Fight. They have their own particular mechanics and are highly enjoyable when you discover how they really work. Another thing is that none of them has the beauty of Final Fight and there we all will agree.

It is a great looking game, though I wish it had the level structure of the first two games instead of taking the Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone approach. You can do some great combos in it too, fun stuff.
recap I agree about SNK's brawlers and action games. It's a shame more people haven't gotten into them. Personally I prefer the Technos/SNK approach where instead of a few pre-canned combos you just have a bunch of moves you use in whatever way is most efficient. While it's not the most recent of them, I think POW is possibly the best brawler SNK's done just because it's so damn FAST for its time and the different moves really do have to be applied reflexively at just the right time to succeed.
Burning Fight, while not pretty, is cool with this too. With the proper timing you can take out a boss with just two or three really long combinations of basic attacks. It's awesome to say, destroy the first level boss with just one like eighty hit "combo" instead of doing pre-arranged stuff.
