A user by the name of "arino2011", who only has this video in the account, uploaded this yesterday.
The guy "tiny" is in reference to the guy at tinycartridge.com, a Nintendo handheld news site, who has been one of the most vocal in trying to convince XSEED to localize Game Center CX2/Retro Game Challenge 2.
Whether this is an official announcement or a fan translation, it can only mean good for us. I loved the original RGC even though I wasn't in it's "audience" so to speak-- the "new retro" games was what appealed to me.

MORE GIANT TEXT ADVOCATING THE GAME'S RELEASE!!!!!
Oh man... if this is real, AND if Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan ever gets an overseas release, then I will consider putting aside my agnosticism for the time being. ;D

In Japan, yes. But a Stateside release for that is a given.
RGC2 has been languishing in Japan for two years. The second one came out in Japan just over two weeks after the first one came out in the U.S..

Considering how long it's been and the controversial nature of the content, I'm not ready to consider it as a guaranteed release over here. RGC2 would be great, though.

It's a Shin Megami Tensei game. It's all but a lock. Besides, this is Atlus we're talking about. SMT: Persona is proof positive they want to fix their past mistakes (even if the game does have a couple of "spoony bard" moments). About the only thing going against it is the fact that the PSP is officially on its way out now that the NGP's been announced.

It involves the resurrected ghost of Hitler, and the ability to choose a gay, teenage boy as your love option. These were likely the very reasons that the game never came to America in the first place, and with no official announcement from Atlus at this point, I'm not going to assume that it's getting a western release just yet. Basically, I brought the subject up to see if anyone had heard differently, seeing as it's also a long-desired game that has yet to see a US release.

It's not the first game to feature a gay option, and furthermore I got an interesting spoiler: it's not really Hitler. It's Nyarlathotep taking his form. (In case you're rusty on your Cthulhu Mythos, it means the situation is several orders of magnitude worse than it appears at first. ^_^

I can see how some of P2's content would have made it a no-go for localization a decade ago, but given the ever-increasing average age of gamers and the current strength of the Persona brand, I think it's safe to assume that a localization will happen unless a statement by Atlus is made to the contrary.
I also don't think that the gay and/or Hitler angles are as much of a black mark for localization as they used to be. Gay characters are becoming increasingly less taboo, and just look at the the WWII games out there about shooting Nazis in the face.

The point remains that Hillary Clinton and her ilk won't be able to draw a distinction between "real Hitler" and "Hitler created by the power of rumors". Also, there might be a few games that have been released in America that allow you to play as a gay, teenage male, but I seriously doubt there are that many. At least, not enough for it to not be considered a contentious issue. The public perception of homosexuality has come a long way over the past 11 years, but so has the Moral Majority's influence on mainstream America. Truly, gay males are still considered to be "the devil" over here, and I see this as being a major hurdle for Innocent Sin getting released in America. But I've derailed this thread enough. Everyone can go back to discussing the possibilities of RGC2 coming to America.

You know, the Fable series as allowed you to practically have your own harem of gay males. I honestly don't think it's an issue anymore, especially in an M-rated game. And the only reason he's not Hitler in Bionic Commando Rearmed is because of tradition.
And I honestly can't remember the last time having Hitler in a work was controversial.

I considered that, but Fable involves adults, not teenagers. Especially not teenagers in high school. Makes a huge difference to the religious nutjobs. I also can't remember the last time Hitler was in an actual game that was released in America. I think that should say something. We've had plenty of games that involve killing nazis and zombies and zombie nazis, but how many with Hitler?
