I think this is a very good thing but I can't comment too strongly because I haven't even played the original. Yeah, I know, right? I really should get on that. I don't think I have an excuse for not at least TRYING it.

The official stance of why Innocent Sin never came out in America is that no one can actually remember. I'm not even kidding. There was some panel the current Atlus guys ran a little while back, someone asked, and they were like, well, none of us were around back in 1998, so we don't know.

You know, the Fable series as allowed you to practically have your own harem of gay males. I honestly don't think it's an issue anymore, especially in an M-rated game. And the only reason he's not Hitler in Bionic Commando Rearmed is because of tradition. And I honestly can't remember the last time having Hitler in a work was controversial. I considered that, but Fable involves adults, not teenagers. Especially not teenagers in high school. Makes a huge difference to the religious nutjobs. I also can't remember the last time Hitler was in an actual game that was released in America. I think that should say something. We've had plenty of games that involve killing nazis and zombies and zombie nazis, but how many with Hitler? Wolfenstein?

Yeah, that's the only one that I can think of. I would have preferred Bionic Commando: Rearmed to have reinstated the Nazi stuff, but I can understand why they went the route that they did.

There was some panel the current Atlus guys ran a little while back, someone asked, and they were like, well, none of us were around back in 1998, so we don't know. I remember for a fact that Atlus ran a survey on their website in 2002 asking if you'd buy Innocent Sin if they localized it. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to work. The "gay thing" shouldn't be an issue, since as people have already mentioned the Fable series is practically a San Francisco cottaging simulator. I figure that if they could keep the throbbing dong monster in the PSP release of the original Persona, this should be a walk in the park. As for Hitler, it's a niche game and isn't getting localized for Germany, so it shouldn't be a problem; Although you tend not to see them as villains in games much anymore, Wolfenstein still dealt with the Nazis. In BC:R's case it was probably since they wanted to keep continuity with the original game's US story, and toned down the resemblance of "Master D" to Hitler to still be able to sell it in other markets (1). On the original topic, it would be totally sweet if they could bring it over, but let's wait and see; it could be a really nasty prank. (1) I know they want to sell Captain America the movie to other regions, but shit...Captain America in WWII not fighting Nazis? What the fuck!?

arino2011 uploaded another video, this time, of just the title screen (no sound, Arino's voice would say the Japanese title in the original ver.)
Fan translation?
EDIT: Coin might be still in the air, the original RGC's title screen didn't have XSEED's name or the 2009 date.

We've had plenty of games that involve killing nazis and zombies and zombie nazis, but how many with Hitler? Operation Darkness? That one was released in America... by Atlus as well. It had what you said... plus werewolves and vampires. Just look at the back cover: ON TOPIC: If XSEED (or any other respectable niche publisher) releases Game Center CX 2 in the US I'm gonna be a very happy man

I'll be damned. Heinrich Himmler, too. I'm still not holding my breath for Innocent Sin, but it would be great if we did get it.

I love the first RGC (which I temporarily stopped at the RPG game since it was the most boring game of the collection but yet I have to continue it someday) but I didn't know a sequel existed. Veeeeeeeery good news!

... so there's absolutely no guarantee that this project is solid. God-fucking-dammit, should have known it was too good to be true... well, at least it's not a hoax for the sake of hoaxing, but this is the next worst thing.
If someone ever comes through on this, you will be my hero forever. For now, I'm not stilling my lungs on it.
*Edited post to sound less emo.

It's times like this that I wish I had more than a super weak grasp on the language. I haven't lost hope yet and I wish xvirus (and any translator that comes forward, if they do) the best of luck on this.

Honestly, if they can manage this, I'd probably import a copy of RGC2.
