I find the original Metroid much harder than the second game, not sure why- probably the lack of a full energy recharge to be found anywhere...I mean if you get an energy tank- ok you get a full lifebar re-fill, but what if you have all the energy tanks, die, get the password and then have the dubious task of filling it from 30 energy points next you play it? I find that a tad unfriendly

It's easy to refill, just get to one of those pipes with all of the bees or whatever that fly out. If you time it right, every time you kill one, another one comes (I think) and they're pretty generous in giving energy power-ups. It takes a few minutes but you can fill up all your energy tanks without too much trouble.

Hmm, thanks for the tip- I guess its about time I got my ass into gear an finished that game, I've had beef with it since...god, 1988 or so!
