I was always quite fond of the Sonic OVA. Man, Sonic needs to be more of an asshole again. They should get the writers for the Zelda cartoon on this. "Well EXCUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUSE ME, Tails." fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Gungrave was really surprisingly good, but I think it would have been a lot better without the characters mutating into fucking video game bosses and going insane, and without BRANDON HEAT coming back in such a ridiculous costume. When Bob Poundmax grew a helicopter rotor out of his back and started flying around while shooting exploding skulls out of his corpulence, my respect for that series dropped quite a bit. It fortunately still had a good ending, and overall, I really thought it was great, but they could have done without the awful boss rush bullshit. In retrospect, yeah I suppose it still was a tad much. I suppose better to say it was respectable on anime terms since they were thoughtful enough to atleast forshadow it without being obnoxious. Most others would have been "ZOMG CRAZY ZOMBIES, here is your magic hentai gun of uber! Meet us in a couple hours and we'll continue the plot providing the mood and theme haven't completely changed." But I agree, if they just kept it on the down to earth level completely and simply hinted at the game, yeah would have been better.

This is slightly off topic, but the X-Men have an anime series coming out in April. The teaser looks pretty cool.

OMG! It has been produced an anime movie based on Sin? And it was brought to Greece as well? I didn't know it was so popular back then. Thanks for this finding. Added to the list.

Speaking for Fatal Fury (which was a big disappointment) DON'T even take a look at Art of Fighting anime movie. It's the worst anime I've ever seen. It's so crappy that even 90's american karate-ninja video b-movies look like Akira Kurosawa's masterpieces in front of Art of Fighting. No kidding. Everything in this anime sucks: the story, the characters, the voice casting, the animation, the action...at least they could do a decent work with the action and the animation as an anime based on a fighting game. But heeeeeeeeeeell no: they didn't even tried. Just like with crappy live action adaptions of videogames. It doesn't even have its cheesy lines to make fun of ("Of course!"). It's be just so forgetable if it wasn't for its name.
Generally I'm tolerate with anime OVA/movies based on fighting games but this is one of the few exeptions. If you insist to watch it for the retrospective do it with your own rensponsibility.

I loved the Fatal Fury 1 and 2 animes. I wish they had made more of those. The motion picture was good too, but I liked 1 and 2 more.

Ys I and II got an anime adaption, it's pretty old school though (early 90s I think) You can watch them here, just stumbled upon this site while looking for screen shots. Quality is pretty average but whatever it's a lucky find

Ys anime adaptions are already included on the list from the beginning as "Ancient Books of Ys" and "Ancient Books of Ys II". But thanks for your interesting link.
Now I added on the list the anime adaption of Gunparade March. Anyone knows about this game? How good is it? Is there a fan-made translation for it? From what I can see it's very popular in Japan. May I assume that it's a strategy/rpg?
