I've been lurking for awhile and figured I'd register and try to contribute and be part of the forum (as much as I can with being a mod at VGM)
Hey Kurt I'd like to start contributing some articles if possible.
Here's a few games I'm VERY interested in writing about.
Berserk
Sword of the Berserk: Gutt's Rage
(I've wrote an FAQ for the DC version and have played through the PS2 one so I can write about both, and I'm a fan of the manga and anime, so I'm knowledgeable enough about both to do them justice)
Eve of Extinction
(possibly since Berserk Developer Yuke's made it and I'm a fan of it even though it's not super popular)
Terranigma
(And eventually all of The Games of Quintet, I'm a huge fan of the company and their games)
(I saw in the games that should be on HG101... thread you want to do a article on these eventually...
But please for the love of all that is holy, let me take a stab at them. For pity's sake I've played through Terranigma 4 times, I love that game, and you're right the soundtrack is one of the best of all time for any platform, with only 2-3 tracks on the soundtrack not really listenable too. The games a masterpiece, that sadly not many people got to play originally and only got life AFTER emulation came into exisitence because of it's JPN/Euro-only release and late in the life cycle of the SNES publishing.
I've played through all of them except Robotrek, and for the record whomever commented on E.V.O. being one of titles is incorrect. It was published by Enix, but developed by Almanic.
So the entire article would eventually include Actraiser, Actraiser 2, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Robotrek, and Terranigma. I could look into their PS1 titles, but they weren't as good and some are JPN only, thier website is still up, but hasn't been updated in 4 years, still it's a nice resource to have available. )
Demon's Crest
(I've played the two Gargoyle's Quest games and could write on them, but I really want to do this game in particular)
Edit: Doh, I forgot the other one I really want to do.
Blood Will Tell
(I know you mentioned you started playing it in another topic, I love this game with a passion, it's one of the greatest beat'em up / hack 'n slash games made in the last few years, Red and Overworks did justice with this liscence, much better than Sonic Team did with Astro Boy, I could do a round up or at least I will mention the other two Tezuka inspired titles in the article as again I'm a HUGE fan of the source material)
I think there's one or two more I want to do but this is a good starting point and something to work at for the next few weeks.
Plus I can get Rey that music quote for Terranigma I've been promising to do for him for awhile now.
If I get your blessing lemme know and I'll start on them soon.
