Bought something else than video games? If you want to show it off, then post here. It can be DVD's, electronics, cool clothing, roleplaying games...even your latest groceries, if you think its worthwhile. I got two cool games from post office today Its an RPG about cops, from simple police work to being a detective. While reading the rules I thought about making a Miami Vice related scenarios. While the box looks bit worn out, the rest of the stuff is pretty much in mint condition. Again, like with the Marvel RPG, there's cardboard playing pieces that havent been cut-out! How nice. First I thought this was a military based RPG (I've been wanting to buy one ever since getting used to the army), but turns out its a card-based strategy game from Avalon Hill. Still looks cool though. This one is in excellent condition too.

Was only $5, and I couldn't pass a Tenchi figure that cheap up. It's a Macfarlane toy, so it's pretty high quality. www.figuresworld.net/animation/tenchi/tenchi_main.htmIt's apparently worth a fair bit more from what I see elsewhere online. Too bad I didn't REALLY luck out and find a Ryoko. You can make it so just one part of the shield clips to his arm, and he also comes with another sword. It's pretty rad, though, seriously.

My haul from a raid on Virgin Megastore in Bahrain last week: Bought the Patlabor set mostly for the Minipato shorts which are notoriously difficult to find online for some reason.

Also from drift store today: comics! Marvel operated bit differently in Finland. Back here, only two series have their own comic-line: Spider-Man and X-Men. Other titles took their turns in two other publications, Marvel (sometimes Mega Marvel) and "Sarjakuvalehti" (translated as "Comic Book"). All four have couple of issues crammed in together, sometimes with minor cuts (or so I've heard). This Marvel issue has 100 pages of couple of Gambit comics stiched together. Its awesome, as Gambit is my favorite mutant from the X-Men. The She-Hulk comic was an impulse purchasement and is a real American one from 1989.

Hmm. The cover to that Gambit thing looks familiar. I think I have the original American issue with that image on it. Pretty sure I never bothered to read it, either...

In the UK there used to be similar reprints and they were better than buying the american thing, because there was no adverts, and you could keep up with any storylines without having to buy several different titles dealing with the same storyline, they were almost like graphic novel collections, but with 3 issues inside. They were always 2 years behind the current american issues, but they died out, I guess everyone must have replaced them with the up to date american issues and graphic novel collections. People mainly bought those UK reprints because they were in so many newsagents, easier to find than a comic shop with the real deal. They used to have original UK covers for a while. Marvel used to have a proper UK wing that produced Captain Britain among other things, and a couple of 90s series similar to 2000AD.

The Dark Knight Returns and Year One. Savor them.
The Sandman books are good too, but the series doesn't get really good until a bit further in.
