Registering a nickname isn't necessary. Are you sure you're putting in the right server address and channel?

I think that's part of it. I wasn't doing that before, thanks It's still not working though; I get this message: "irc.psigenix.net: Terminated" when I try now.

I know some people have trouble connecting depending on the client they used; what are you using to connect?

I've been trying to get on with Mibbit.

I tried to jump on the IRC with mibbit as well, and ended up getting the same message as X-pert. I'd try a different provider (or whatever it is), but I don't really know any others.

We had a netsplit the other day, so it might be a side effect of that. Try one of the more specific servers connected to the PSIGenix hub (replace "irc" with "deep13", "orion", "odin", etc.). www.psigenix.net/chat.php You can also try PSIGenix's own java chat. And make sure the channel you join is #hg101chat, not #hg101.

The interface seems to work with psigenix's java chat, but I don't see #hg101chat as one of the available channels. There's #hg101, which I'm avoiding, but I don't see the proper channel in the list. Is it hidden?

Type /join #hg101chat - That should do the trick. Should do the trick on Mibbit, too, for that matter.

You called one of our chat members a he/she. Repeatedly. Immediately after being told to stop. Repeatedly.

A permaban for a pronoun mixup? You called one of our chat members a he/she. Repeatedly. Twice. Immediately after being told to stop. Repeatedly. Once. Forgive me if I'm not mistaken, but I never directly called out anyone (I'm not being a smart ass, you made an assumption). Also, a permaban is quite harsh considering I broke no rule besides piss you off (which wasn't my intention). It's tough to be "antagonistic" to an absent party. I may act obtuse, but I'm right. If that's your idea of antagonistic I'd hate to see what you do to real antagonists. The only remorse I feel is not getting banned for dropping something actually offensive, like a racial slur. I feel like a kid with Parkinson’s who got put in the corner for spilling his apple juice. If anything, you were quite antagonistic to me and not very tolerant, forgiving or even inquisitive to the nature of my comment (which is why I went off after the fact) and just looking for a reason to permaban me. The righteous hand of justice is swift, but not merciful. ps Don't call me out on ban evading. I have many different connections and it wouldn't be possible for you to ban them all. I was just reaffirming that you didn't want me around. Now that I know I'm banned, you won't see me again. If I wanted to be repeatedly shit on, I'd go make Dutch porn.

It wasn't a "mix-up." You were doing it to be antagonistic, just like you're being antagonistic now. Being obtuse about its what made it a permaban rather than a week probation.

That's rough. well at least add me on xblive.
edit: Though I'm not surprised that you didn't reprimand the one who spammed the chat and forums in the most childish and absurd of manners. (Favorites much?)
