A shame few have re-attempted Pinball World's experiment (I remember some N-Gage pinball, also considered among the best games on Nokia's phone). Mile High Pinball. Definitely a reason to own an N-Gage. I beat that one like 3 or 4 times...in direct succession.

Sorry for the thread bump but, I've been looking for the Pinball World CD version for ages! Can somebody please give me a link, or invite me for Underground Gamer?
Thanks in advance!

I found out about another related game. A GBC game that seems to use the same engine as the terrible Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/Mania GB ports, but with tables unique to GBC. Hollywood Pinball. It was made by Tartantula Studios, which apparently used to be Spidersoft and is now part of Rockstar. www.gamefaqs.com/gbc/576691-hollywood-pinball/images

Tarantula? Dear god - they're also responsible for the GBC Grand Theft Auto, and those Austin Powers "PDA" games...

They did Indiana Jones the Fate of Atlantis the Action Game and the GB Cliffhanger. I also saw a couple videos of Hollywood Pinball on youtube. The music is some of the worst I have heard on GB or GBC.

I suppose then, in the words of Dr. Ashen, it's "a fitting punishment." =P

ugh. I tried out Hollywood Pinball. Not surprisingly, it's terrible. It actually improves on the physics compared to the Spidersoft GB games, but has incredibly bad music and table design. It actually makes the altered level designs of the GB Dreams and Fantasies look good. There are actually 7 tables this time around, but almost every one has a cluster of huge bumpers. On a couple tables, the ball can stall there for a long time and the loops go back to the bumpers. Just plan bad table design. The funny thing is that one table, Robin Hood, actually uses the William Tell Overture as the music.

I've recently realized something: 21st Century probably is the spiritual successor to British publisher Hewson. It's more plausible when you consider that some of their first games were sequels to some of Hewson's games (Nebulus II and Deliverance: Stormlord 2), so maybe 21st Century bought the rights to everything by them when they started out. And nowadays the rights owners of Hewson and their games are Rebellion (the Hewson C64 games on Virtual Console have a copyright for Rebellion on the manual, and they were the ones to allow World of Spectrum to host their games), and this might explain why the iOS/PSP ports of Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies have the "Licensed from Rebellion" thing.
And in sorta related news, Tower Toppler/Nebulus is the shit.

Picked up Pinball 4000 recently. The MOD files refer to the game as "Pinball Mania 2."

Bought Pinball Gold Pack on CD from someone online. I assume the GOG version doesn't have the CD audio tracks for Pinball Illusions because the CD version doesn't have them.

GOG's version completely lacks the CD tracks, yes, though I had assumed that was done deliberately, as DOSBox doesn't seem to be able to mute CD audio properly, causing a horrible noise when it tries to play a MOD track while a CD track is still going...

Found this bit about Pinball Challenge Deluxe on The Cutting Room Floor tcrf.net/Pinball_Challenge_DeluxeApparently, the save feature was not available on legit copies of the game, due to Ubisoft not putting any EEPROM battery on the carts, possibly to reduce costs. But since the saving is coded into the game, emus and flashcarts will make a savefile.

Necrobump, but a little something about Pinball Fantasies Deluxe on PS1... turns out the game does have the Mania tables as the PC equivalent does, as they appear on the game's back cover. However, they have to be unlocked, it seems. No idea how, although one site says has a description saying, and I quote, "score big and you are awarded with four original Pinball Dreams [sic] tables: Tarantula, Jailbreak, Kickoff and Jackpot". I presume that means beating the default highscores for the Fantasies tables, which is 16 million for all four. Of course, considering the iffy physics of this version plus the fact that the default setting is "high" for the table's elevation, it's easier said than done, even on Billion Dollar Gameshow where it's easy to get millions. I'll keep you posted.
