When I was back in college (I guess like three and a half years ago or so), a bunch of friends and I had a radio show on the school network. Like most college radios shows, it's pretty much just a bunch of people messing around with a microphone, except we played lots of video game music. The whole shebang went on for a semester, but I recorded a few segments for later keeping. I've encoded them for your listening "pleasure", in case you're curious. These are five segments, between twenty and forty minutes each, from two different shows. One of them has really awful quality, because I recorded it from the television at work, but the other is a bit better. dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/contra/history/warpzone/warpzone-part1.mp3dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/contra/history/warpzone/warpzone-part2.mp3dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/contra/history/warpzone/warpzone-part3.mp3dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/contra/history/warpzone/warpzone-part4.mp3dl.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?classicgaming/contra/history/warpzone/warpzone-part5.mp3There's lots of video game music, random BS, and music from a crazy guy named Copernicus that you guys will all love, I guarantee it. The cast includes myself, Commie (posts around here as JoeSteele), Neo Rasa, Bill Muller (used to be Wil327 when he was around here), along with two of our old roommates, Jeff and Billy, plus some dude named Marshall.

plus some dude named Marshall. Marshall is only in part 5 for about a few minutes or so, and even then you cannot hear a damn thing he says....though he does call in near the beginning of part 4... ...btw...about the beginning of part 4....umm..ask Rasa EDIT: Also part of cast, crazy drunk dude who wanted to hear "that mario level where he's underground in the caves", and dude from radio station who called up to ask us how our "levels were doing".

File planet has 29 people downloading? That's more people than our cumulative listener base for the entire semester.

I think he plays World of Warcraft all day. I have to say it... WoW claims another feckin' life. Friggin' damn MMORPGs... Commie! I've heard much of you, good sir. *bows* And I remember hearing a bit of the Warp Zone a long time ago. I think Kurt gave me a couple of episodes via AOL. I'll have to download the other episodes. I remember an amusing comment on... I think it was a game based off the Rakuga Kids? Kurt said that it's like Power Stone, but... it's good. *LOL* ;D

Rakugaki Showtime, it was. Still haven't played Rakuga Kids alas.
Anyway, when it shows other people download on Fileplanet, it means just people grabbing from that server in general, not necessarily that file. Still, a few of them are up to...five downloads, which is still bigger than our listenership before. Then again, the radio transmitted barely even covered the whole campus.

...Does anybody else find the word "zone" charming?
"Quick! Run to the warp ZONE."
"Welcome to the 3rd ZONE."
...Alright, I'm done.

Glad everyone's liking the music. Kurt I told my brother about this and he's yelling at me about how we should network together and start this up again. Supposedly this is the key: www.skype.com/

Glad everyone's liking the music. Kurt I told my brother about this and he's yelling at me about how we should network together and start this up again. Supposedly this is the key: www.skype.com/I think we mentioned podcasting as a possibility recently...I've been looking for a good VG music podcast for a while and the best one I found was this: www.kristoferlee.com/PureNES/PureNES_info.htmAll he plays is like nothing but an entire NES soundtrack each podcast...no talk. Every other podcast I've been looking for either plays nothing but remixes, talks way too damn much, or both. You figure something like Video Game music was popular enough for a podcast....man was I mistaken...hell I'd want to see the warp zone recreated for no other reason then so I could actually have a decent podcast that I could listen too. Skype? I suppose you are referring to this? skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/home
