Indeed. I really wanted to fit "Build That Wall" into my top 5 but it just wouldn't fit. Still, as a soundtrack as a whole, it's one of the best in recent memory. But, it certainly doesn't stand as well on it's own as it does in game.

It'd be interesting to see write-ups about each chosen song, even if they're just blurbs written by forum members. Agreed. Once everything's compiled I'd like to get at least a few sentences from someone who voted for the track. Probably only do that for the top 50 or so though. I'm all for that. I like talking about songs in games I dig.

Just voted, well knowing that I'll only get all miffed because no one else votes for those cool Euro tunes while everything's infested with Squaresoft. (At least the Squaresoft tracks I voted for hold no risk of showing up in the top 10.)

Oooh, I need to remember C64 tunes! The Last Ninja is a great choice, derboo.

Muladhara has to be my most listened to song ever. It's just so ambient. Defines DDS to me.

This is either the best song ever or the worst. Probably the latter.

Added a whole bunch to my list, namely a lot of FF. 9 had such a good OST.

Not sure if this is acceptable, but I'd also like to vote for Sega CD Version 2 boot up theme. Can I do this even though its technically not in a video game?

Added a whole bunch to my list, namely a lot of FF. 9 had such a good OST. You've actually got one over the limit! (3 per game) Not sure if this is acceptable, but I'd also like to vote for Sega CD Version 2 boot up theme. Can I do this even though its technically not in a video game? Sure, why not? On another note, this all reminded me how awesome the main theme from Midnight Resistance is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1LJ8R75jw0

That's good stuff.
And fixed again, I had four for Etrian Odyssey 1 and some others. (EO1 has the best OST in the trilogy, IMO.)

I might just be missing something (darn lack of sleep), but could someone clarify for me real quick... now, only the "Top 5" songs you have in your post count towards the votes, and the songs in "The Rest" don't count towards voting, correct? Every song you list counts, but if you choose a Top 5, they count 3 points each instead of only one. Ah, okay, thanks a lot!

Modified my choices a bit. I didn't realize at the time of posting that there could only be three entries per game, so I had to take out a few KoF '99 tracks (to be honest, I would vote for that entire soundtrack if I could). I also added a few more to bump my total number up to 50.

I started my list finally, funny thing was, once I sat down to write it, I forgot most of the tracks I wanted to put down! Guess I'll have to jot them down when I remember again.
I also had a bit of trouble finding the track names for some of the earlier games. I mean, I could only find the song I wanted from Super Mario Land under the name "Overworld Theme", but it's kinda weird, since it has no overworld... ah well, hopefully it'll all pan out.

There is one upload with correct track names for SML. Stage 1 is called Birabuto Kingdom. I guess people interpret it as an overworld since the music changes when you go down a pipe.
