It was a video game system my parents got me ages ago called a "Goodboy" that they found at a garage sale about 14 or so years ago (so I don't know if it really counts). It was another one of those knock off systems (that sadly burned itself out), and three cartridges with it- a Shatterhand pirate named "Robocop", some Zelda-esque game with a weird blue cat, and the coup de grace, a 200 in 1 cartridge- though about half were "Super" Variations on those games that allowed a level and live select. Great system, and one I really need to look into fixing one of these days.
The other imports were one's I took back stateside after my trip to Japan last summer that I picked up in Akihabara, most were gifts for my brother- A copy of Shining and the Darkness for the Mega Drive, Shining Force III- Scenario III, Dragon Force II, Langrisser III & V, and Virtual Hydlide for the Saturn. For myself I picked up the Langrisser Tribute, Rockman 2 for the NES in box, another copy of Shining and the Darkness, a really nice Ys Compendium that covered games 1-VI and had art work and other fun facts on the series, and finally I got Genso Suikoden I & II with really nice, brand new guidebooks (all in Japanese) that I still have yet to put up on Ebay.

The first ever import I saw/played was the US version of Suikoden 1, which my sister found and purchased form a local pawn shop (And which I now have. However I don't think she cares, as she has a PAL copy she picked up from a local EB some time later.)
The first ever import I bought myself was a sealed re-released (Player's choice or whatever it is) copy of Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm considering buying Chrono Cross(Or a US PSX with Suiko 3, unless PS3 is region free and PS2 compatible) when I eventually get caught up on my RPGs.
I'd probably have more import, but I can only play imports for my PSX and I don't really wanna mod my PS2.

My first import. . .
It was Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Remix for the Saturn in March of 2000. I was a feverish fan of the original, and the US-PS1 verison had YET to be delayed for another 18 months. shortly after, I went on a school trip to Japan and picked up Shenmue.
Years later came Ikaruga and the Sakura Taisen Complete Box.
I started importing more often after that and I don't recall the exact order of what came next. But I've done it often enough to recognize and love the large EMS envelopes I recieve them in.

My first import was Slayers Royal for my modded psx back in '99. I used to be a huge fan of Slayers and when I saw that there was a FFT kind of game for it...well...I had to have it. My last import was...Sentimental Gariffiti for the SS. I still haven't played it and I've had it for three years. If anything, my next import will be a jPS2 and a copy of Ibara.

My first import experience: Back in the early 90's (probably about January '92) I rented a Japanese copy of Prince of Persia on the SNES (the guy chucked in a converter- this was when I was in primary school hehe) and I also rented Wanderers from Ys III from him. My first import purchase: The summer of 1995 was a pretty big moment in my gaming life for me, I got Final Fantasy 3/6 imported from America with a nice little converter. Ironically no converter would play the game properly- you needed a 60hz mod for that kind of thing which I couldn't convince my mum to get done for me at the time hehe. That meant occasional menu glitches and being unable to see the better part of the ending! (it wasn't until my friend later imported the Playstation version that I finally seen its ending- I still think it was worth the wait). For a first import purchase I don't think I could have made a better choice Since then I've had more than a fare share of import games/machines than I really should have- I mean I have Lady Stalker and I haven't even played it bar testing to see if it worked! :S
