The music in Fist isn't too atrocious. Sort of excite making!
Pit Fighter is my vote for the shittiest. I played through that for kicks a while back, and my god, that is just a train wreck all the way around.

Ooh, good choice. Yeah, that was really awful. Didn't stop Nintendo Power from hyping it, of course...

SNES Pit Fighter is hilariously brown. I think you have to mention Pit Fighter in the same league as Fight Club though. Did anyone ever play Fight Club? It probably made Pit Fighter seem deep.

The Fight Club game is the complete embodiment of the opposite of everything the book and movie were supposed to represent. Naturally, I had to buy it. It's about as good as you'd expect a fighting game with Fred Durst to be.

Why is OMF2097 STILL on that list...
Also Shaq Fu tried to do something different and screwed up because no one could be bothered to learn the controls (because they are admittedly terrible) but I guess when it became cool to dump on it no one really went into it with an open mind. Frankly along with stuff like Advent Rising (an excellent game) and Daikatana (mediocre, overhype killed it) these games are generally held up as bad by people that haven't even been bothered to play them.
Ballz might be a terrible fighter but it has a couple of neat features like movement in a 3d space and that EVERY character can be morphed into every other one with special moves mid-fight.
Teras Kasi was totally an alright game, if you only used the light-sabre based characters.
___
In terms of actually shitty fighting games, I'd give the title to Survival Arts for being boardline unplayable and an actual released arcade fighting game. It's the little things that really make it awful - the character sprites are too large, none of the characters are remotely balanced, the background art is horrible, the character designs are atrocious and it even has graphical problems.

I'm not so sure about that. I remember when it came out in 94, and everyone hated it back then, too. The Pepsi product placement was just great.
Compare this to say, Weaponlord. A year later, online fighting, fatalities. No Shaq, no Pepsi.
And did anyone mention Time Killers? Probably, since it's so notorious. I'm just too lazy to look back through the rest of the thread.

How about adding Time Warriors for the PC? Horrible 3d fighter that one of my friends gave me.

Or any fighting game on the original Game Boy, with the exception of some of Takara's ports. The Sakigake! Otokojuku game was not half-bad and Power Quest looks decent (it's Game Boy Color, but it was originally a monochrome game in Japan).

Since there's lot of debate about which games can be considered as kusoge and which not I added this text at the beginning of the thread:
I also changed the title from "shitty fightings" into "Kusoge fightings" in order to avoid objections about the title "shitty".
Now let me answer about some of the objections you have made for my list: - I don't know about the cult following of One Must Fall 2097 nor do I care. Since it looks very shitty from miles away how can't I included it on the list? If you disagree, fine. I won't change your mind nor you can change mine about this game. I'm not always right (besides, no one is perfect) and I will totally change my opinion for some games after a little conversation with other people but my opinion for games like this cannot change no matter how much flame I will get from other people. - When I was reading how shitty is Shaq Fu on internet I thought "Weird. It doesn't looks so bad." until I played it and agreed about how shitty it is mainly because of the controls. - Killer Instinct as a shitty fighting? Seriously? Apart from the fact that when I played it again last year it was as awesome as I was remembering it when I first played it back in 1995 it is considered as one of the best fightings of all times and one of these games that deserve a sequel or at least a HD remake. And for your information it's much better than Mortal Kombat.
Putting aside the debates on this forum I would always pissed off in other forums and sites when I was reading that Mace - The Dark Age is a shitty fighting. I mean what the heck. It was one of the best fightings on its era and of course of the best looking-one which was a fine combination of Soul Blade (in the gameplay term)and Mortal Kombat (in the gore term). But of course not only it was overlooked from N64 owners for the sake of mediocre or shitty fightings like Mortal Kombat 4 (a mediocre fighting) and War Gods (a shitty fighting) it was also overlooked and shitstormed from Playstation owners because "N64 was the worst console for fightings and Tekken is the best fighting ever, duh!". Morever I would always wondered why Dual Heroes is considered as one of the worst fighting games. Ok, it's not something memorable but at least it's enjoyable and playable. But nooooooooooooo: "It's Power Rangers-style, so it sucks!". Good grief...
Closing this post note that I will add some of the games you mentioned and they're definitely kusoge another time. However I will not include figthings that they just look very generic as long as they look ok except if they are unplayable (e.x. due to control). By the way, Dong Dong Never Die rules! One of the best indie parody fightings I've ever seen.

I'm back and I thought of more really bad fighting games. Dino Rex, like Primal Rage, is about dinosaurs fighting each other. The controls are terrible, but it's worth a few good laughs. Dual Blades is just about the only game I can think of from Turkey. It is a shame it is really bad due to being on a bad system for Fighting games (Gameboy Advance) and bad character designs. Scheiser Robo is terrible. It has slow characters and general unresponsiveness.
Here are some allegedly bad fighting games (or at least ones with bad reputations) I have never played. Feel free to let me know how bad they are.
Rise 2 (Rise of the Robots sequel) Blood Storm Virtua Fighter 2 (The Genesis port) Lobo Cho Aniki (It had a fighting game, I think) Strip Fighter II Xena Brutal: Above The Claw Thrill Kill Marvel Nemesis Dark Rift

Right, you're totally justified in labeling a game you've never played, despite what people who have played it are telling you.

I don't know. I mean unless fighting games are your favorite genre, I don't really see any of this as being something to take offense over. If someone were to say that Street Fighter Alpha 3 was shitty...Well first they'd have to be fucking insane, but I wouldn't take personal offense to it.

Kusoge are "shitty games". It's the very definition of the term. I have always seen it used as a pejorative from my experience in reading Japanese forums and never in a "b-movie" sense. In fact, there's even a Japanese wiki that judge the quality of various games to determine whether they're fit of the label. www23.atwiki.jp/ksgmatome/
